Go with Half-Life 2. It is a beautiful game that has constant action, and it unfolds in an engaging and almost cinematic manner. Also, the episodes that are coming out now are very cool additions. Well, there's only one. But it was AWESOME
I played WoW for 2 months of one of my summers, and then school started again and that was it. I managed to get distracted from it for long enough that I could forget about it, but I completely understand why people have problems quitting. It is a masterfully crafted game, and it is entirely captivating and entertaining. Props to Blizzard for creating a title worthy of the title WarCrack.
Yes! I noticed that too! The rain in Stalker is great. It was pouring out and storming, so I went into a little falling-apart garage type building to wait it out a bit, and I realised that it wasn't raining around me anymore, but there was water pouring through the holes in the ceiling!! I fell just a little bit more in love with the game.
P.S. I really don't have a problem with the gun accuracy. Do you guys use the iron sights? Do you know how to read iron sights? Because the ballistics model in the game really is accurate. Experiment with it a little, if you are far away and your shots on your crappy rifle keep hitting the ground in front of your target and to the left, just aim a little up and to the right. You'll hit.
I tend to avoid all of the strange hardcore turn-based wargames. They are often set in a war that nobody has ever heard of, and they try so hard to be realistic that they lose a lot of their fun. Also, I don't think i've ever seen one with at least semi-acceptable graphics. They all seem to be stuck in 1990. I'm of course generalizing quite a bit, but that's only because I really just do not enjoy that genre. Leave it to the Grognards.
That trailer for the Euphoria engine brought tears to my eyes...That is just one plain amazing piece of technology. I want every game to use it! So incredible. That stuff all looked real!
Yea, I would say that the only reason people buy a new game of any genre is just to experience the new setting, units, time period, shiny new graphics, little extra features etc. Since most titles in a genre are generally quite similar, there are only so many things to differentiate between each game. However, that is what defines a truly great game. One that can revolutionize a genre, or be so different that it becomes practically a genre in and of itself.
I am unable to get into a game. It crashes either when I enter the Audio settings menu, or after the loading is completed when I'm trying to enter a game.
