I don't understand, just because God knows what choice that we make, it doesn't necessarly mean that it isn'tour choice. God doesn't force us to make any decision, we decide what we do, God just simply knows what we are going to do, he doesn't affect it, but we don't know our actions in the future.

Decessus

If we have free will and are able to make our own choices, then how would God know what choice we are going to make before we make it?

If I'm standing at a fork in the road, I can go left or right. However, I haven't decided which way I'm going to go yet. If God knows already that I'm going to go left, then it's impossible for me to actually go right.

technically you're right, but if God had no influence on our desicion then how is it not free will?

this has already been done before, no need to do it again. oh and to answer the thread, I belive in God, but I use science tolearn aboutthe natural world. science is not a belief, it's knowledge, as of facts or principles; knowledge gained by systematic study as defined by dictionary.com

[QUOTE="cool_baller"]how does that makes God not all powerful nor not all knowing? it shows he loves us and wanted us to be free.
Decessus

I already presented my argument for why free will is incompatiable with an all-powerful God. You'll have to go back and read it if you're interested.

Free will and an all-knowing God are incompatible because in order for us to have free will, the action must not be known until after the choice has been made. If God knows what choice we are going to make before we make it, then it isn't really a choice.

I don't understand, just because God knows what choice that we make, it doesn't necessarly mean that it isn'tour choice. God doesn't force us to make any decision, we decide what we do, God just simply knows what we are going to do, he doesn't affect it, but we don't know our actions in the future.

I've never understood why Christianity and Evolution have to be in conflict with each other. I think they can go together very well.

it doesn't really bother me that much, especially in warand stuff like that. the only time where i don't like it is if its extreme torture, like skinning people alive, but it takes a lot to make me turn away.

I don't know what's the big deal about Harry Potter. Its just a book, its not like kids are trying to do that stuff anyway, it just another fantasy book. I'm a Christian and I really don't care if the book has magic in it, its just a book, like I 've said before.
