Score granting comes down to a few decision makers, not several hundred or everybody that works for the reviewing party, so it's not as unworldly difficult as it is claimed here.

In the world of corporate profit maximization anything is possible and can be expected, even assassination, more so bribery.

@bob_loblaw1981 Nice post. Disagree on the comfort of playing with a wireless keyboard and mouse, still need a surface to set your keyboard and slide the mouse. Only advantage for consoles over PC is exactly the ease of use of a controller.

I play PC with a controller for any game that supports it, to hell with aiming accuracy if I can't maneuver efficiently. Keyboard was designed to type, the controller is the item tailored for gaming.

Saying the campaign has some degree of freedom is huge for COD. Maybe they want to get away from dumbing down a little, just when Rockstar decided to join the dumb club.

@lukasr1 Same as always, only strip away gravity and air friction and you have a bullet that will fly in a straight line without falling or loosing speed until it hits something, be it 10 ft or 10,000 miles away.

@dpclark I kind of get you, but I haven't tried Steam so I'm oblivious of the facts. Now, I want to mod and tweak my PC games as I see fit and certainly will not put up with console style restrictions, like playing games as they were developed by default, with all the dumbing down included.

That's what consoles are for. If I can't mod games purchased through Steam them I'm sure I won't like it much. I want to take a game apart and remove all the dumb design decisions developers integrate to their games to make them more "casual" friendly.

Gaming has fallen to the level of smartphones, people buy what's fashionable and popular. I personally will stay away from next gen console gaming because the trend is badly dumbed down, shallow games ahoy, and it will be the norm for next gen.

Although I abandoned PC gaming some time ago in favor of the simple plug and play characteristics of consoles, I think I will go back to the complex PC tweaking and constant file operations got I sick of once, just to get some depth back in my gaming experience.

Sadly, console gaming has turned into a sea of shallow, over simple, dumbed down, barely challenging games. It no longer holds any appeal to the core gaming community. Consoles are now specifically directed to the casual market.

They have completely abandoned the core gaming community, so in my opinion, the only option for these gamers, which are now "the minority" for the the gaming industry, is to go with PC gaming. I love the simplicity of console gaming, but dumbing down has taken over.

@Kickable Does it need to be complex to be dumbed down further?

@DemocraticTroll Well, that's sad. I'm really interested for the exploration element though.

The question is, how badly dumbed down is it? because games today are all about being dumbed down.
