As usual, Capcom misses the point. Whether these characters are on the disc or need to be downloaded is irrelevant. They should have been part of the full game to begin with.

I'm not sure about how Gamestop is in the US, but it sounds like it has a lot of the same problems as it does here in Germany. Gamestop simply makes absolutely no effort to compete. They keep spamming customers with emails begging them to trade in recent games that are going for $60 for a pittance, charge well over the going price for recent titles, and even charge more for used games than they cost new on sites like Amazon.

Is it any wonder their physical media sales are crap?

I know the idea that millions of copies have been pirated must be hard on the devs, but I'm sure that they understand that had they jumped on the DRM bandwagon, they probably wouldn't have got anything near those kinds of sales figures.4 million copies is a very respectable sales figure when you consider the size of the studio. The Witcher 2 benefited from the anti-DRM sentiment and the publisher's professed respect for its customers.

They might have lost the odd sale from piracy - very few of those pirates would have actually paid for the game if it were impossible to pirate it - but what they've lost in revenue, they've gained in respect from the PC gaming community. And when you have the same kind of respect from that community as Blizzard and Bioware had before they went downhill, you know you're onto a winner.

There's no way in hell that the competition authorities would allow this to go ahead.

You don't talk about your control pad when you're making Halo because your control pad will generally work without any problems.

Kinect, on the other hand...well, it's understandable that people have concerns about the way the controls will work.

Not all people are motivated by financial gain.

@white_wind Who on earth would want to play SF in Tekken style? On the other hand, Tekken in SF style could be interesting.

There's a reason they're doing two crossovers.

@jazilla If this were the PS2, I'd be inclined to agree. There were so many generic JRPGs on that platform and only a few standout titles. But the PS3 has been fairly devoid of good, localised JRPGs, that it's about time we saw another one.

@blutosan

Well, everyone needs to decide for themselves whether it is worth sacrificing the right to resell the game, the certainty of having access to that game years from now if they don't sell it, the ability to lend that game to a friend and the ability to buy out-of-print games, all to save 25 seconds of your life.

I feel sorry for anyone willing to trade away fundamental advantages for such a pittance.

@Fruitymachete German by any chance? Looks like the typical mistakes a Landsmann would make.
