@Redsyrup: I don't know why you're claiming I'm saying things I am clearly not saying.
Also they say they are creating specific hiring groups that will seek out talented women and will be working with organizations like Girls Who Code to find talented women and bring them into the game dev industry. This is no way discrimination against a single group of people.
Also saying it's cool that Blizzard will hire more women is anti-male? Seriously? So is any company that hires women instantly anti-male?
@dreadborne: The comments are already filled with people vomiting up "This just means the most qualified candidate won't get the job" otherwise known as "White people won't get the job!". This qoute from Franklin Leonard sums it up "When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression. (It's not.)"
@Redsyrup: lol, so I'm sexist because I think it's cool that they'll give women just as much a chance as they would a man? Did I say women are better? No, read what I said, I said it will HELP writing and artistry. If you're going to create a piece of art that features women and PoC, wouldn't it make sense to have on staff artists that are also women and PoC?
Awesome, this can only be a good thing when it comes to story telling and character design. Also all the people screaming "This means the most qualified candidate won't get the job" really shows the cultural sexism and racism when ONLY a white man can be the qualified candidate. Good on Blizzard.
@blacklist0907: Of course they know Rockstar was good devs and are one of the biggest threats on the market when it comes to releasing along side. I personally like it when a dev acknowledges a rival dev for it's talent.
Ubisoft gets a lot of flack (some if it rightfully so), but despite what people say they produce extremely popular, well realized and generally highly polished games. A reason must exist why Ubisoft games sell time after time after time, many many people write them off as bullshit artists that simply remake the same 4 games over and over. While some truth may ring true in that statement, it doesn't stop people from buying them. I've enjoyed many of Ubisofts games in the distant and not to distant past, and I will continue to enjoy Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed Origins, Skull and Bones and whatever else they release that peaks my interest.
