We don't need online multiplayer for every game. I said it before when this was hotspot, I believe that multiplayer can take away from the single player experience. I also believe that online is to big a part of games today. When PSN was taken down back in April some games were put on hold because they weren't confident enough in their single. I believe developers need to work primarily on single and then work on the online.
@jimmypsn More security? People get hacked everyday and Microsoft does nothing but say change your information. Downloads speeds are also dependent on your own connection speed. Interface is an opinion, I like XMB because it doesn't have ads all over the place. When I want to see something I have to pull it up instead of it just popping up.
I'm really glad that this is finally being said by somebody other then me. I said something about this when Hotspot was still around. Back when PS3 was taken down I got a question on the Hotspot about online services being too big a part of games.
The system goes like this. You pay 60$ for a game. More then 50% of that game is tailored towards online pay. So now if you don't pay for the online service you have just been cut out of from half of your game. Now people will pay for those services just so they can play the rest of their games.
Don't believe me? Try and play Call of Duty without going online. Motorstorm was delayed back in April because it was mainly online.
@bmart970 Just so you know, you only named one positive. Many people are fine without party chat. I like not having party chat because I can talk to people in my lobby instead of them being in a party not in the game they are playing.
@smurfa1 Yet Nintendo and Sony both manage to do it......... Their money comes from hardware and software sales. The console is whats called a loss-liter. They will lose money selling that console but they need to have a strategy in order to make money from that loss of money. Nintendo came out well by only having to sale one game to make the Wii U profitable. Took Sony a few years to get it, but are you saying Microsoft can't?
They just want your money and for whatever reason you like to give it to somebody instead of keep it so it is your loss.
