@jedi2357 It does push the medium forward. It made you think, it made you make up the story in your head. It pushed the medium forward by not having you kill any one. Since at least 90% of the games this year made you kill somebody in someway at some point. It pushed the medium to go in a different direction and look outside of the box and use symbolism to tell a story instead of a gun or sword.
@darksoul1968 Feedbackula this guy. But when MGS4 got a 10 it was back when the generation had just came. Back then it was a magnificent game. Some of people on the site have even said that if they were to review the game again it wouldn't get the same score. Then again that is because of the way Gamespot does their scoring system. As time goes by the grading scale gets higher and stronger which makes it harder for newer games because they must improve on previous games.
Snake Eater was a great game but I still must give it to 4. Peace Walker was set before 4, but it was released after 4 so......get ya facts right.
@danyal805 They all played Far Cry 3, at least most of them. Check out their podcast because they talk about it. They even have a funny video up about Far Cry 3 meaning they had more then enough time to play the game.
I loved I Am Alive. It wasn't a survival horror game but it did scare the crap out of me at times and I had to actually think and work to beat that game. I believe that the poor graphical design was on purpose and it brought me more into this destroyed world. The poor graphical design brought me down and made me feel the environment. I think I'm gonna run through that game again now.
I love Dragon's Dogma but it just had too many short ends to me. No crafting, annoying teammates, no co-op, no fast travel. Lets say the game was 10 hour long, cut that by half because more then half of the time you were running back and forth to the only city in the game. The game only had three positives for me and that was the environment of different dungeons and caves, of course the battling, and the different classes you could play as. Don't get me wrong I love this game and I beat it three times but it got very boring and I forced myself through the third playthrough. I just wish it was up to par with other current RPG games that released around it and before it.
I love this game and I can't wait for the sequel. I was only disappointed because some of the things that the game missed I felt were common practice for the genre.
