i had a similar feeling with the "bad" ending. the "good" ending is more satisfying and is a better punctuation for the story. You can breeze through the second time. Even do it on easy if you really want things to move and squeeze it in before tuesday - i heard this Halo game is coming out?:)
If you have a COSTCO near you then you can go buy a 360 and return it for a full refund withreceipt at any time. Membership fee is $50 for the store. So at least you can play Halo3 while your 360 is being repaired and then you just take the new one back that you have been playing in the interim. The return policy at this store is unlimited so you can return it any time. they changed their policy on electronics at this stoee but not consoles so you can do this without fear of losing money while your 360 is in the shop. I know it sounds crazy but it is true - no store credit - full refund. Dont know if COSTCO is nationwide but if you are here in NY then it is a great option for the red ring solution.
I also have a feeling that in the next 3 months these lists will be shaken up quite a bit by the releases of Halo3 , Mass Effect COD4 and Assassins Creed - All next gen GEMS.
i just finished bioshsock in 720p and it looked amazing. i flipped over to 1080i and there wasnt really a noticeable difference. Maybe this was because Bioshock is a game set in mostely dark areas, maybe a side by side compariosn of gears in act 1 when the gears are outside in the light would offer a better comparson. Maybe someone could post some screen shots in this thread.....that would be pretty cool. If i knew how to do it i would.
I wouldn't call it an average game, but the hype has ruined it for me. From now on, I'm turning off my interent 2 weeks before a game I want is released...and it's 2 weeks today until Halo 3 comes out. See you on the 26th guys! P.S. Blue Dragon rules.karriston
I think i said the same thing to a freind of mine word for word the other day. I also knew spoilers before the game came out because of people posting errantly around this site and ruining things they leanred to be secret achievments that gave away major plot spoilers. i am still going to visit game sites leading up to the halo release but im done watching videos and i am going to be off the boards for a while.
The Wii has good value when you take into account the virtual console games which are classics. Now that MP3has been releasedthere is a solid gaming experience to be had and mario galaxy as well as smash bros and the next mario kart are all being released in the next 2-6 months. The 360 has its obivous perks with a great lineup in its wake and surefire hits like Halo3 andMass effect as exclusives. PS3 has potential with MGS4 waiting in the wings and heavenly sword seems promising given the recent review although the game is reportedly very short. I guess a blance is there and the next 6 months look to be a very exciting time in gaming. I suppose you would be justififed in owning all three but as far as value is concerned i would say 360/Wii/PS3 in that order.
I also dont give much creedence to reviews, but this very site gave Killzone a 6.9 and Halo a 9.7!! these are the guys they pay to review the game and they basically laughed off Killzone and hailed Halo as an instant classic and im quoting now " easily one of the best shooters ever". Lets say for a moment that the reviewers were wayoff base, which we all know they can be from time to time. the user average for Killzone is an 8.2and the critic average at a 7.3. the Halo numbers are staggering. GS 9.7 user average 9.4, and critic average a 9.6. Halo has it all, great combat, great story, fun vehicles, probably one ofthe best soundtracks ever. When the action started it didnt stop and it waspure adrenaline. The battles against the covenant and the flood were epic.Master chief is one of the better characters ever burned onto a disc and the trilogy will go down as possibly the best ever. Killzone was good and i liked it. The combat was well done and the battles had a great feel to them, like you were in the midst of an actual warzone.But we all know it had bugs and it distracted from the things that the game did well. it is in a lower class than Halo period. Everyone agrees from the critics to the gamers as a whole. you are in the overwhelming minority.
i also love how you took a cutscene shot instead of a gameplay shot from Halo. in any case i dont think looks really make the game, my buddy just got lair for PS3 which looks great but plays like crap. He said he would rather stick pins in his eyes than play that game for another minute. bottom line, lair has nothing to do with anything, it just means that looks arent everything and the graphical comparison with Halo does little to strengthen the argumentof killzone as a better game.
