@pdevil21 This is unrelated to free speech. I don't know where you're from, but even in the bastion of Free Speech - the USA - you can't publicly slander or demean, hate speech is illegal, you can't make public threats, you can't make false claims about your product or a competitors product. There are always limitations on the freedoms we have.

In Australia the government does not control the Classifications Review Board directly, so it's not their fault. It was hijacked by two conservative Christian lobby groups 8 or 9 years ago. The things they hate most are the promotions of drug use and violent sexuality, and they use a very open definition of 'appropriate context' to block what they are uncomfortable with. But believe me, there are people doing the hard ground work to get things changed.

@iBuzz7S Oh, also, the rationale behind being much harsher on drug use (compared to, say, violence) is that very few people have the personality to become violent offenders, where about 50% of people will try illicit drugs, so the chance of drug related content influencing someone into taking drugs is therefore higher. Poor logic; if a 19 year old was so easily influenced to take drugs for the first time because of a game, it's certain that their friends or a high school dealer would have got to them by then.

@iBuzz7S Sorry, that didn't sound like the point you were trying to make.

All countries have content which they will ban if deemed inappropriate, so an R18+ doesn't mean a free for all. Hence you can't buy violent pornography at JB Hifi, for instance. Our classification system is actually very fair, and consistent, in comparison to most other places; it is the way it is interpreted by the very specifically biased CRB that is the problem. This kind of crap was much less common before 2005 when they changed the Board election rules and the ACL and Family First took over.

@gosushi No need to exaggerate; they just want to ensure you won't find a needle half full of blood and heroin and think it will cure your sore throat. It won't.

@iBuzz7S It has the highest level restriction everywhere? Looks like no one thinks mutilating zombies is appropriate for kids.

It's not as if the games play any different, nothing has been cut, they just call the drugs something else.

@Warsilver If you read consumer reviews here, or IMDB (doesn't matter) you'll notice that 90% of reviews are either 9-10 (OMG!!! BET GAME EVA) or 1-2 (i give this pos a piont for tryin). A 7/10 is very confusing for a lot of people.

@KiriharaZro Most RPG and open world fans want next gen to improve the size of, and interaction with, the persistent worlds we long for, not the graphics. Better hardware allows you to fill towns and cities with crowds of people who act like they have lives to lead, not tracks to follow, and improve AI to levels where you can truly interact with NPCs without following a limited script.

@LordCrash88 @Jd1680a And based on what other friends have told me about their companies, they're all going to skip upgrading this OS generation anyway because no one likes W8; its too expensive to install widely because most people need to be taught how to use it or tech needs to spend to much time making each PC more user friendly. MS killed it.

When the maker of the world most used PC OS makes a new OS that is clearly designed for tablets, its not surprising that people aren't upgrading and are gravitating towards tablets?
