@Gargus The strength of their games so far have been the power of isolation; so much mesmerizing time zipping through Journey; the spirit of contemplation.
The second time I played Journey I turned off the internet so I wouldn't be joined by a player and just had the company of the scarf things on the game, and that was a much better experience than joining up with someone.
Social gaming isn't the next logical step to TGC, is a dumb step that goes against what they grandly accomplished so far. I hope once they hit pre-production they'll have realized the error of their ways.
@blaze_boy30 We need fusion products between real games and casual games. Call of Duty: Garden Warfare, or Farmville: Absolution, because deep down gamers want to play Angry Birds on their flat screen. With ads.
Because I want to play both, I hope there is a decent amount of difference between the styles of the first-person free-running in Mirrors Edge and Dying Light. Notwithstanding that I don't think ME will have too many zombies in it, just in the actually capabilities, flow and dynamics of the running experience itself.
@unam10122 No, we all sound like real world adults who understand the technological limitations on a digital future. No country, not even in the rich world, currently has plans to have a ubiquitous high-speed broad band network with carriers providing affordable unlimited download to the home. If you want digital only, the world needs to spend trillions of dollar making it possible first. Even Australia's grand plan to just head in that direction is 25 years and US$50 billion (at least, because costs will go up, and then over-runs) away.
@SavoyPrime So Dragon Age: Inquisition for next-gen. and DA3 for this gen?
p.s. Weren't next-gen games meant to be the same price as now? On each site I've looked at, even the importer I use, PS4 games are pre-ordering for at least 30% more than PS3 versions. $90 from $60-70 for OZGames, and $118 from JB. What's with that?
@hatieshorrer I am aware of that. This article feeds into a broader dialogue that has been going on for some time about violence in society, violence in media, and mental illness.
