Scary Dream I Had

Anyone who has read my profile knows I have an interest in the paranormal. There have been some things going on at my parent's house which I will not elaborate on here. Let's just say they are strange things. This is really funny now, but it wasn't early this morning when I was dreaming it. The inside of the bathroom door of this house has a pattern in the grain of the wood that looks just like a man with long hair wearing a monocle. When I was growing up there, this used to give me the creeps! In my dream, I was in the bathroom and all of a sudden I looked up at the door and the monocled man's face turned into the face of a woman staring at me. I was really scared! Now that I'm awake, I realize how dumb this was, but..... I need to quit thinking about the things I was told about the house recently.

Here is my "Nanny" page

This doesn't look as good as in person. Background is burgundy cardstock with stripes of different animal prints outlined in glittery gold dimensional paint (I don't think you can see this in the picture). Large cast picture is supposed to look as if it's framed. Journaling includes favorite scenes and something I called Fran's Yiddish Dictionary. I used an online Yiddish dictionary to copy the definitions of words frequently used on the show. Title was made by freehanding the letters to look like the actual show title and piecing them together with different colors of cardstock.

Avatar and The Nanny Page

I changed my avatar last night because AnimeSpirit and I were using the same one of Janet. So I decided to be Hot-Lips Houlihan for a while, but it is only showing up at the top of my page. On all my posts, I am still Janet! How annoying! I finished a scrapbook page about "The Nanny" last night. I will post a pic later, but I usually take them outside and it is much too windy today! I want to try scanning it and knitting it together (since I only have a letter size scanner and my page is 12 x 12) because the scanned images always look better than my digital pictures! I don't have a program to do this, though, maybe I can find one online or just use paint. Earlier I typed a description of what my page looked like, but I didn't press submit and lost it! I hate when that happens! So I will describe it when I post a picture.

TC Scrapbook Layout

Nicole and I have been working on some scrapbook layouts commemorating some of our favorite shows. So far we have completed a 2 page spread about MASH, one page LO's about Keeping Up Appearances and Wings and last night we completed a 2 page spread about Three's Company. I thought I would try to post pictures of it here, in case anyone would like to see it. They never look quite as good after I take a pic of them as they do in person, but they still are not bad. Nicole painted the background cardstock with a sponge. I designed the title and she made the door on the computer and also the striped paper that I cut the words "knock" and "door" out of. We collaborated on the spacing of the pictures and journaling. The journaling includes our top ten fav episodes, honorable mentions, and some fav quotes. Most of the pics were downloaded, except for two screen caps we took ourselves. Unfortunately my printer ejected the piece of photo paper I had in it, and my pictures started to print on cardstock. I didn't want to stop them because I am almost out of ink, so I let them print on the cardstock. They didn't come out too badly, though.

Site Still Slow among other things

I have spent most of my morning on TV.com, but all I have been able to update is part of the TC threads and both of the Nanny threads. The site is still running very slowly for me. Anyone else having trouble? I noticed the signature graphics are appearing again on the posts of those who have them, but my profile banner has not come back. I wonder if I need to reset it, or if they are no longer going to be allowed or what? Does anyone know? Some of the graphics down the side of my profile are also not appearing. Maybe they are not finished working on the updates or whatever they have been doing to the site the past few days. Hope it gets back to normal soon!

Site is acting strangely!

I haven't been posting the last two days because the site is giving me problems every time I log on! It is making my hard drive light flash constantly like it did before a few months ago. It takes forever for me to type a single comment too. It's just too frustrating when it is like this, so I'm going to stay away until it gets better. Hope that happens soon as I really miss playing the games on the TC forum!

Sad!

Some of the regulars on the TC forum are becoming more and more irregular. I hope it is just because they are busy or something like that and not because we are beginning to be boring! We need people in the Bonanza and Keeping Up Appearances forums, too. Hard to keep them going alone! I don't post much on the forums of some of the shows on my favorite list because when I visit to read the posts, the regulars seem very argumentative. If I want an argument, I can stay at home and get one there! Ha Ha! I miss reading my friend's blogs also. I can't really complain because I don't write as much as I used to either. But it is nice to know what is going on with everyone. Sort of like living vicariously, you know! Well, it's quarter to midnight, and Keeping Up Appearances is on PBS right now. It's the same one they showed yesterday and last Monday, though. I still have to laugh when Onslow can't find his bottle opener and Rose asks him why he doesn't wear it around his neck and he replies "And look like some big silly Doris with a dangler?" You just have to love some of those British expressions, even if you don't understand them! Oh, and when Daisy thinks Onslow has another woman and tells Rose "I'll bet she's cheap and common." Then Rose says "Don't knock it. I've had some of me best moments being cheap and common!" Lol! Enough for now! Good night, all.

New Year's Day Traditions

Happy 2006 to everyone! Everyone has heard of making New Year's Resolutions, but here are some traditions from my family. My grandmother (who died before I was born) used to cook a big turkey dinner every New Year's Day and have friends and neighbors in, according to what my mother has told me. I think this is a good tradition, because New Year's Day is an extremely boring holiday in my opinion. But of course this was back in "the olden days", so I don't know how it would go over today. The next tradition is one I have followed all of my adult life, even though it is ridiculous! On New Year's Day, you must eat black eyed peas and you get good luck for every one you eat. So the more peas you eat, the more good luck you will have in the coming year. Could this have been invented to make people eat their black eyed peas? The last one I want to mention is also something I don't really believe. Whatever you are doing as the clock strikes the last stroke of midnight and the new year commences, you will be doing the rest of that year. But just in case it is true, I will try to make sure I am doing something good, lol! We are all from different backgrounds, of course. Are there any New Year's traditions different from these in your family?

The Day After

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and got everything they wanted (if receiving is your thing). I went to Christmas Dinner at my neighbor's house. There were several of us there that live in Twilight Trails and it was very enjoyable. I brought home a bunch of leftovers too, so I won't have to cook tonight! After we came home, Nicole and I watched Clone Wars volumn one (she got both one and two for Christmas), "Three's Christmas" (couldn't miss that!) and then we dug out tapes of "Wings" (another favorite show) and watched 2 Christmas episodes of that show. It was a very nice evening. What did all of you do? Does anyone have plans for New Year's Eve? I rarely do anything on that day, except sometimes buy a bunch of junk food and eat it while I'm waiting for midnight to come. I'm not a party-er. And to tell the truth, I don't like to be around a bunch of people who drink because I don't.

Cat Sitting

I have been doing that since last Sunday for my neighbors who had to go to a funeral in California. We take care of their cats everytime they go away. They have 5 cats: The first two live outside in a shed (a really nice shed furnished for cats with a litter box nice beds and platforms at the windows for the cats to sit on in case they want to look out!) I think they are named Big Mama and Little Mama, but I never see them, so I sort of forgot their names! The second two live in the house. They are two calico sisters named Reba and Leanne (named after Reba McIntyre and Leanne Rimes!) I call these the two evil cats. They are huge cats and one second they will let you pet them and then be hissing at you the next second! Now they have a new cat. His name is Little Boy and he is very pretty. He was in the house until they left, but then they made him a little house of his own on the front porch by the door. Twice a day, I go over and fill 5 water dishes, 5 bowls of dry cat food and 3 bowls of canned cat food! These cats are some porkers! In all the time I have been taking care of these cats, none of them have ever been friendly to me. The only cat over there that is friendly to me is one that doesn't even belong to them, but comes over and eats their cat's food! I just want to say Merry Christmas to all my friends here again. I hope you all have a very special holiday season! I want to mention a few names in particular. Merry Christmas to: Weezie_Y Yoester PurplePaws Wolf JTripper Angelduster Diamond Dog Sgt. Pepper SRead Kingy78 and if there is anyone who's name I forgot, please don't be mad at me!
