Boring Blog

I would like to be able to regale everyone with the fascinating stories from my life of adventure. I would even just like to have something interesting to tell. But unfortunately my life is dull, dull, DULL!!! I don't even have anything ordinary to say!! Today I got up, ate a cereal bar and had some coffee, made the bed, cleaned the kitchen, tweezed my eyebrows, folded the laundry, watched TV, went online, did role play on a couple of sites, went outside, came back in, sat back in front of the computer, wrote this blog, etc, etc, etc, and on and on and on and on. See what I mean? Boring!

I Won Quiz Night

Today was quiz night in the Most Haunted Fans private chat room. Well it was night for them, but only afternoon for me since I live in the US. Anyway, I won! There were all kinds of questions such as about movies, music, math, history as well as questions about MH. Whoever gave the correct answer first got the point. I won with 14 points. My friend Amy was second with 13. Now I will be in the Hall of Fame! I am surprised since some of the questions were things I don't think we have here in the states. I answered many of the others, though. That's all I have to blog about today, I guess. Maybe tomorrow.

Pet Peeve

I just looked into the kitchen and saw one of the cabinet doors was open. This is something that really irritates me! To think that someone would open a cabinet and get something out and then just leave the door hanging open! Aaargh! Some other things that bother me in the same way are when someone gets up from the table and doesn't push the chair back in and when someone goes outside and doesn't make sure the door is closed. Now you know. I'm nuts! The pie I made yesterday was really good! Wish you all could have some. I love pumpkin pie topped with cool whip! It's just so spicy and different! Why then do I only ever have it on Thanksgiving? I do not know! Yesterday, when I said I was putting up my tree? That's all I got done was putting up the tree. I didn't get any lights or decorations on it! Also, I cheated this year. Instead of putting in front of the windows like I usually do, I stuck it in the corner. So now I don't have to decorate the whole thing! It's a huge tree. I even had to mess around with the top of it so it would fit under the ceiling! I'm only going to decorate the part that is going to show! I have a little 4 foot white tree and I think I will put it up also. Two trees, why not? I like to decorate my big tree with bows and silk poinsettia bushes from WalMart. All you have to do is stick them in the branches. I use some ornaments, too, though. Well, later.

I should blog

I should so I can get to the next level because I'm already 97% through the level I am in. So this is what I'm doing today. Baking a pumpkin pie. I know it was just Thanksgiving, but I was away from home so I didn't get to bake one then, and I had already bought the ingredients. Putting up the Christmas tree. I mentioned before that it is our tradition to put it up on Thanksgiving, but I wasn't here and then didn't feel like it for a few days, so I'm doing it today. Reading a book from the "Last of the Jedi" series. Found it at Wal-Mart the other day. I know it is a juvenile series, but I still enjoy reading them because I'm a fan! That's about it. I hope all of you are having fun today on what is the last day of the Thanksgiving weekend.

Wallace and Ladmo

Reading Purplepaws blog gave me the idea for this. If anyone reads this who grew up in Arizona and remembers this show (which is doubtful) please contact me! When I was young growing up here in Arizona, we had a local show called "Wallace and Ladmo". Generations of AZ children grew up watching this crazy show that ran on Channel 5 from the 1950's until the 1980's (I think)! Between showing cartoons, there would be live skits, and little films that the cast made that were like silent movies! The two hosts would go around the state putting on live shows also and I was fortunate enough to be at 2 of their live shows and once I met "Ladmo" at a restaurant he owned. Local children, if they were lucky, could get on the show and receive a Ladmo Bag, a paper grocery bag with lots of junk food and stuff inside! Even though this show is off the air now, if a person goes to jail in Phoenix (I don't know this firsthand of course!) they are given a sack lunch that prisoners call a ladmo bag! Lad Kwiatkowski (Ladmo) died of cancer quite a few years ago and I don't think I ever cried so hard over the death of someone I didn't even really know. Recently my brother told me Wallace has also passed away. It is sad to think that children growing up here today will never know the joy of watching "Wallace and Ladmo". PS. After writing this blog, I did a little internet research. There are several sites devoted to this show. Here are some things I found out that I didn't know before: 1. W and L ran from 1954 - 1989! Wow! 2. It was the first show broadcast in color in AZ! 3. It won 9 Emmy awards! 4. It was the longest running local TV show in any part of the United States! Nowhere did I see information on the fact that Bill Thompson (Wallace) has passed away. I wonder if my brother knows what he is talking about!

Why are People Prejudiced Against Others?

I was just on the Most Haunted Board and someone there made a comment about Americans directed toward me. I am sitting here typing this, barely able to see through the tears, I feel so horrible. Why are people like this? I never did anything to this person, except try to include them in the role plays and stuff. I have never cared what race or nationality a person was as long as they are a nice person and I don't understand why other people act this way. What he said would be like me judging all people from the UK based on my experience with him.

Busy Today

All day today I have been so busy online! I have been role playing back and forth on Most Haunted Fans with my friend Amy, and updating threads on Tom Nevers Field and most of all trying to advertise John Ritter Online. It is the only site that I am an administrator of now and I would like to see more activity on it. So if any of my friends here are fans of John or even if you aren't, I would be eternally grateful if you would even consider joining and posting there occasionally! Here is the URL: http://johnritteronline.com/?Forums/YaBB.pl Really though, I am not writing this just to try to get people to join another site and I hope no one thinks I am. I just feel responsible for it since I am on the staff there! I noticed the role play on the TC forum here is going pretty well. So many people have come up with great lines that really sound like things the characters might have said on the show! I love Role Play because it gives an opportunity to be creative. Since I was so busy doing this and that today, I didn't have much time to post on this site on the TC forum. I will have a lot of catching up to do now! This site is messing up for me like it did the other day when I mentioned it in a previous post. My hard drive light is flashing like crazy. I really need to run that viruscan. So I'm not sure if I will get much posting done tonight since when it is like this, it takes forever for pages to load and I get impatient and just give up. It's funny that it only happens when I'm on TV.com. I've been everywhere else today with no troubles at all. Well, everyone have a good night and a great tomorrow!

Random Observations

The place where I live is called Twilight Trails. Such a beautiful sounding name. Just goes to show that its true: you can't judge a book by its cover. Why are smart girls portrayed as being unattractive and beautiful girls portrayed as being dumb? The town of Casa Grande is 15 miles from me, but the Casa Grande Ruins (an ancient dwelling built by the Ho Ho Kam Indians) is in a town 5 miles from me called Coolidge. Why didn't they call Coolidge Casa Grande? Instead it is named after Coolidge Dam which is so far from here that I don't even know where it is. Did you know there was a Civil War battle fought near where I live in Arizona on Picacho Peak? I didn't know that either until I moved out here. One time Picacho Lake went dry and someone I know went out there and picked up a live catfish and brought it to me in a bucket of water. I felt sorry for it so I let it loose in the canal. I wonder if it lived? They grow alot of cotton where I live. Coolidge was a boomtown in the 1940's when actual people picked the cotton. But the invention of machines to do this turned it into a small town with nothing much going for it. The locals call it Cool-Town, but I don't see much about it that's cool. Every year we put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving. I have to go now, I have someone who is going to give me a ride downtown, and I am going to take advantage of it.

First Fire of the Season!

I have a wood burning stove in my house, it looks like a true antique, but I'm not sure how old it really is. This morning I was sitting here typing away and my hands were freezing. The temperature on the bottom of my computer screen said 55 degrees. If Wolf reads this, she will probably laugh at me thinking it is freezing at this temperature! So I built the first fire of the season in my wood stove. It's nice and warm in here now! Of course now it says it is 63 degrees outside. My stove is really neat. It even has two caps on top for cooking! Last winter I heated some water on it for coffee one morning when the electricity was out! I've never actually cooked food, though. Someday I may try that. It probably would be fun, pretending to live in the pioneer days. I need to drag out a cast iron skillet! This year when I lit my first fire, I didn't even set off the smoke alarms! I did last year, though.
