Actually, I played through MGS4 with my friend this week on his PS3. I don't have a PS3, though I might get one. So just assume I can't play MGS1 for now; can I at least start 2 then do 3?

I just cannot find MGS1 anywhere, I found 2 and 3 and bought them, and after playing 4 I really want to play the first ones again, but I'm hesitant to jump into MGS2 when I haven't played 1 yet. Can I start with 2, play 3, then possibly go back to 1 if I find it? or will this screw things up?
I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm looking at a PS3. You could probably live without a PS3 though, if you're not an MGS4 fan. princeofshapeir
I most certainly am though. I played through act 1 and 2 yesterday at my friend's house, and I can't live without it. So what most of you are saying is it's gonna last a few years.....up to 7 even?? Guess I'll go with it soon, hope you're all right...I'll probably just get the 40 GB version, can't imagine going higher...what's the point? are the larger systems just for music you put on or what? what would constitute the 80 gb machine?
I've had a wii since launch; usually just keep one console and upgrade my PC as I go. I just bought an HD 4890 for my PC, as well as other components totalling around $400. Now I am really thinking about getting a ps3 since you can get them online for less than $300. My question is this: Is it worth getting a ps3 at this point when all 3 consoles have been out for a few years now? will they die out too soon for me to enjoy it? I really only want it for mgs4, infamous, etc.

Well it'shalf open world...
do you use a push pull for the two fans? Also is it possible to LOSE an overclock ability? I've been screwing with this damn thing for hours, and now my once stable 3.4 oc (when I tried to lower the voltage) won't even last 2 minutes on p95 when I put it back, now I've tried up to 1.4v on it and many other speeds, tried automatic voltage, etc, I even pushed it back to 3.3ghz with an automatic voltage and it won't work. Did I fry something or what's up??? I'm gonna give up soon this OC crap is insanely frustrating:evil:
ugh I was wrong, turns out that last test I ran somehow turned my FSB back, so I thought it was stable but it was only running at 2.3 or something lol. Now though I have 380 FSB with a 9x mult, and I'm so far getting a stable oc but with load temps of 68 Degrees. Not what I was hoping for, and I'm not exactly sure what voltage I have right now as I left it on auto after messing with it for hours. I'll try to lower it; I guess I just have a really hot q6600. There's no other reason I can think of for such high temps at only a 3.4 OC. Overclocking is so frustrating!
Alright so I figured it out. I was researching and there were many people all over the web with a G0 q6600 not being able to get a stable 3.4. They tried 378x9 and 425x8, all at different voltages, I myself went up to 1.4v and never getting p95 to last more than 5 minutes. So I came across trying 428x8, a weird combination which is around 3424mhz. As strange as it is, it works. I have it running that now around 1.34v, gonna lower it tonight. So for anyone needing help, try this, it works very well. Thanks for all your help though guys, I might even try to push 3.6, as my temps doing a small FFT with p95 (the hottest temps) are only at 55-58, nowhere near my 66 temps with the 378x9.
Hi I might be your ram holding you back now. You might have to back down the ram speed.

I think right now it's running 4-4-4-18 (if that's how it goes, I know it's the 4 one lol). Is that what you mean? Plus I don't think my mobo lets me change the RAM; I've looked everywhere for it in the BIOS. Strange because it's somewhat of a gaming mobo (well it was at least).

Here follow this. They get to 3.8Ghz @ 1.6V personally I wouldn't go over 1.5V but if you want to take the risk.

eh, I might try to get around 3.3, 3.4, but no way in hell am I going to 1.6v! lol my temps are high enough. But cool link, idk why you'd go that high on a q6600...
I got my servers q6600 to 4.0ghz lol, but I backed down to 3.7 ghz because Zalman 9700s suck, then I went back to 3.6 ghz, because it crashed once in a month... Which is not acceptable :) Q6600s are so easy to overclock, it's ridiculous. A QX6700 is hell, I'd trade my qx6700 for a q6600 in a hitch, even though mind has an unlocked multiplier :)huh it's funny that you say this, because I just upgraded my HSF from that Zalman 9700. It does suck, real hard. Now you're making me more confident in OCing this q6600 further. I guess I should manually up the voltage; when I put it on auto it worked fine up to 3.4ghz, that's when it wouldn't take p95.
