Nope. You're NEVER gonna get the same temps; that's how it works. Trust me it's not strange.

Why not go with ATI? 4890 is where it's at
I have 2gb of A-Data Vitesta Extreme, and they don't sell it on Newegg anymore. Was thinking about getting another 2gb of A-Data Vitesta (not extreme) to save 25 bucks from getting a new 4gb set. They bothrun at the same timings, PC6400, etc. Can I do this stable-wise? I'd think it'd be fine but you never know...

what do you guys think about this puppy? It's either this or the 4890. Which do you think is better? Possibly even the gtx 275...
Here follow this. They get to 3.8Ghz @ 1.6V personally I wouldn't go over 1.5V but if you want to take the risk.

eh, I might try to get around 3.3, 3.4, but no way in hell am I going to 1.6v! lol my temps are high enough. But cool link, idk why you'd go that high on a q6600...
[QUOTE="jmsbond35"]1.26865volts? My processor can't even boot at those volts lol. If you want a High OC but 1.55volts on it and get it to 4.0ghz easy. Though get a good cooler would you? Thermalright ultra 12 extreme is where it's at.Ok so I am now at a 3.2 overclock with 8x mult. and 400 fsb. After trying for hours to lower my core voltage from 1.26875v (what it goes to when I put it on "Auto"), I left it at this. Now here's my next question: is it strange that I can't lower my core voltage from the auto volts even when upping NB, FSB, etc voltage as well? I just want to lower my temps a little, and it seems impossible. Also is it better to go with an 8x multiplier at 400mhz or something like 9x with 356?

well thanks. I have no idea about voltages, so it's good to know that I'm within good range. And I think Thor's Hammer can handle it ;)

I'll try minimizing my voltage soon. Should I just mess with core voltage or FSB/memory as well? my board's bios only lets you increase voltage on everything but the CPU; it says "normal" and "+.1", etc.
it says B stepping and G0 revision in CPUZ. Is that bad?
Ok I just bought Xigmatech's Thor's Hammer and some OCZ Freeze for my q6600. I installed it (finally), and have 1 scythe S Flex on the heatsink, and one 120mm exhaust fan on the back of my case, as well as a side fan and intake fan.I now tried to overclock, and am now at 3.3 ghz with 63 degree load temps on prime95. I'm starting to think I either need another fan for the heatsink or that I have poor contact with the CPU heatspreader. I am ALWAYS afraid I didn't make good contact. Should I try to take it off and reapply the grease? I really would rather not because it was a **** to install. If the heatsink slips a little while screwing it in, does that decrease the contact? I did the two drop method on this one; seemed the best for an HDT cooler. Any help would be great; it's just that I hear many a story about 3.8-4.0 OCs with this bad boy, yet mine yields "meh" results.
