This may sound a little nerdy, but what's it like in college in terms of games? I wonder if I'll ever have time to play, or if i'll even want to. How does it work out?
Well, on the positive side, I just picked up that monitor (I'm almost sure it's the same one on Newegg) in black and it's great. It's not just good value, it's more than the money you pay for it. No dead pixels, great colors, the only problem is adjusting the brightness, I ended up just using the default "normal" mode. All in all, it's great, especially for the money, not just because of the small price tag.
My comp is working fine, everything works except when I try to start a game. It gives some kind of notification (different for each game) basically saying it doesn't recognize I have a graphics card. World at war says unrecoverable error; CoH says "make sure you have the minimum system requirements, etc. Anyone know what the hell is going on?
I just bought a new 22" Widescreen, upgrading from my 19", which could only run at 1280x1024. But I'm hearing how square monitors are the only way to go now, so I'm kind of regretting it. Are most games supporting of it now? I wanna play games like CoD WAW and Left 4 Dead with the correct ratio and stuff. Will I be fine?
BTW, here's the monitor if anyone wants to check it out, it's a great deal.
I've been running on 1280x1024 forever now, on an Acer 19". So if I want a bigger resolution like 1600 or 1950, I need a better monitor right? anyway I got a 9600GT and I need a new monitor now. Any good suggestions? probably around or below $200.
