Ok I started the installation at about 1 this evening (the install, not this long "modifying game files" part) and I left so I don't know exactly how long that took, but now it's at this modifying game files part, which says it takes up to two hours. It's not 4:40, so it's almost been four hours! Should I restart this or leave it? It says if I try to manually end it, I will have to re-install the game, but it's taking up a lot of memory right now. ANyone else have this problem?

As someone said before, it's kinda old school. That's fine with me, cause right now there's nothing really all that great; the simple gunplay was fun and it surprisingly was satisfying to kill people. hand 2 hand was fun too. Like a good version of everything or Nothing...except in first person.

I understand these topics are dumb because they are hard to compare. But Considering I can really only preorder ONE of them, which one should I preorder? I've actually never preordered a game before; but which one will be best? I really like how Far Cry is turning out to have great combat and a mix of story, but Fallout just seems to have way more content, like the upgrades and RPG element.

Yea, I guess there is the matter of DD's. I get a lot from steam, don't get me wrong, but like a previous poster said it's really great to have a game with case in hand, knowing it's physical; idk it has a good feeling and it has resale value (not that I really resale anyway, PC games are worth like 5 bucks used).

Ok my local Best Buy is pretty big (not the biggest i've seen, but big) and it has all the new stuff, obviously not doing too bad. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is I walk in there yesterday, expecting to browse their expansive PC game collection (they usually have a great selection of new and old games). I walk back to the PC games section and what do I find? Test centers for the PS3, 360, and wii, each complete with giant flat screen HD displays. I wonder where my PC games went, so after looking forever, I ask someone. I find that they are by the gay-ass CD's, hidden by the keyboard pianos. They are all put together, no longer separated by genre, all clumped together in alphabetical order with kids games mixed in. It's impossible to find any games.

Is this saying anything about our beloved platform? Or am I just crazy?

Ok I was looking for a new Steam game, cause I got money to spare. Besides the basics (orange box, CSS, DoDS and stuff which I already have) what is good? I was looking at Sam and Max, the Dracula games, and Beyond Good and Evil. Am I missing anything? are any of these games good? I already have Audiosurf too.

Yes, there is a big issue with PC exclusives. There are so many good games coming out that I wish we could have to ourselves because they are going to be dumbed down for consoles. And fing pirates is an issue as well. Can we blame them if pirates steal their merchandise?

AOk so I have a wireless router in my house, and I get a wireless connection on a PC away from the router. But, I never have a good connection for gaming because the signal has to pass through so many reflective surfaces. So, my question is, can I buy a second wireless router, plug it into my PC and just get a better signal? Becuase I've tried all types of hi gain antennas/etc. Or, can I do the same thing with a new Modem?
