The game is less than two months away and there’s still nothing to show for gameplay? Such a typical EA move. I’m hearing a lot of taking and zero walking.
I see a whole lot of people trashing Starfield because of this review. Take a look around, people. Gamespot doesn’t rule the world. It’s sitting at an 87/100, which is pretty damn good. It’s higher than I was expecting. Nobody needs any “saving.” The game didn’t bomb and no it doesn’t suck.
How quickly people forget that Starfield was being completely sh*t on when they first released gameplay. Remember how god awful the guns and gunplay looked? Well, this review specifically points out how good and fun the combat is. People were expecting a 5-6/10. To me, it really seems like they turned things into a big win, but people love to talk trash on the internet whenever a game doesn’t score a 9 or 10.
@hardwenzen: I’m with you on that, but I also love a good top down view. Options are always great. Imagine a new Fallout with the option to use a top down view (like the OGs or more like XCOM, minus the cover system) with the VATS system being reworked into a full fledged turn-based combat system with its own skill chart (targeting individual body parts included), while retaining first and third person gameplay as an option as well. One can dream.
@hardwenzen: Witcher 3 still pulls in 10k-20k players on a daily basis. It certainly isn’t 450k+ but it’s a solid player base for an 8 year old single player game.

The game is awesome, no doubt. However, I’ve stopped playing because they’re constantly pumping out patches (which is great), adding things and making changes. I think it’s best to hold off until the major patches are out of the way. There are too many great games releasing over the next few months anyways. I’ll never find enough time…
Even as a teenager I thought stuff like this was absolute cringey garbage. Thankfully, as a teenager, they never really sold garbage like this, so it wasn’t much of an issue.
