3v3v3 should be fun. I absolutely loved squad deathmatch in Bad Company 2. That was 4 teams on bigger, open maps though. Not sure how it will feel on small COD maps. Maybe some maps will be opened up a bit. It should be a hair more tactical. I guess we’ll see. I haven’t bought a COD game in a few years. This seems to have the modes and maps that I like. Would be nice to see a few from MW1, such as Overgrown, Creek, Downpour, Pipeline and Christmas Crash for the holidays.
I’ve seen some unimpressive rereleases in my day, but this has to be one of the most embarrassing. Rockstar knows damn well how much people want this game to be remastered and released on PC. It wouldn’t even take much effort or money. They did neither of those things.
After the GTA Trilogy debacle, I just can’t understand what they’re thinking. They wanted to avoid another lackluster release, but they did the exact opposite. As usual, the people in charge have no clue what they’re doing or they think they’re going to cash in on a rerelease and then cash in on a PC remaster.
There’s exactly zero effort here. And for that, I certainly won’t be putting forth the effort to get my wallet out.
@dirtydyk: Pretty much. Their map layouts are atrocious. 3-lane corridor garbage. At least the older maps have variation. High ground vs low ground terrain, multiple paths and shortcuts, some large maps, some open maps. I was excited for MW2 remake, but the MP maps and forced gameplay style absolutely killed it for me. There’s no freedom. Sure, there are different weapons and perks, but it’s all the same when you’re forced to hip fire or quickscope through tiny maps and corridors.
Everything I hear about this game screams dumpster fire. You have to go outside of the game to trade items? A very basic mechanic and it’s still missing. What the hell is Blizzard doing? They seem to be completely out of touch. This game is very clearly unfinished and still in a testing phase, exactly like Diablo 3 was at launch. It took D3 two years to recover and become worth anyones’ time. D4 is obviously following the same path. They never learn.
The main cause for the negative reviews is that people don’t like it. They don’t like the micro transactions, they don’t like the lack of promised PvE, they don’t like the fact that OW1 has been erased in favor of this lesser game, etc. It’s not a good game. It’s horrible for consumers and Diablo 4 is no different. Blizzard is on a huge decline. I’ll be staying away from them.
Weren’t they originally saying that this was going to be a $50 release, considered premium but not a full fledged sequel? Could have sworn…
They must have slapped something together real quick this year. Unless this has bigger MP maps, then no thanks. I despise the forced corridors and typical three lane structure. Make it interesting for once.
THQ may not produce top notch AAA games, but damn do they keep the classics alive and revitalized. Not to mention, they never announce a release date unless they’re 100% certain about it. Pair that with no microtransactions, loot boxes, battle passes, etc. I’m a huge fan of what they’re doing. They need to keep existing. Titan Quest 2 was a big surprise. I hope it holds up.
