Disgusting. Clearly that’s exactly what the fans -don’t- want, Capcom. Publishers are the absolute worst and always seem to be out of touch with reality. If you want to make a certain kind of game, then make a new IP, don’t destroy the ones that fans love.
@bloodbornelove: You’re not wrong. Rockstar knows how to craft an open world with beautiful graphics and an insane amount of detail. Nothing rivals Red Dead 2 on PC in 4k. Nothing raytraced even comes close.
@hardcold: what do you want, ray traced helmets? There’s not much else you can do in a football game. The reflections, lighting and shadows are good enough as is. Raytracing really won’t make much, if any difference and that’s why it’s not in the game yet.
@rolento25: It honestly sounds that way. They listed a character creator and “sideswiping” in vehicles as two of the best positives that they could come up with. I also highly doubt that the cast is “fun” to spend time with. They’re likely as cringeworthy as it gets. 3 out of the 4 positives are nonsense, leaving just one solid positive note for this game.
After reading your pros and cons, it makes no sense whatsoever how this even got a 6/10. It sounds a lot like a 4/10 with the most important features being lackluster, boring, stale and outdated. I guess you awarded 3 points for the character creator.
So you’ll only be able to get cool looking gear if you pay for it, much like Path of Exile. If you can’t also get awesome unique and flashy legendary gear from loot drops within the gameplay, then it’s a pass from me. Cosmetics are only okay if they don’t detract from items you find and earn during gameplay.
I can’t even express how cringeworthy this game looks. It’s not just this ad, it’s every piece of the game that has been shown so far. It’s a huge cliche. The MC is as annoying as can be. It’s clearly aimed at teenagers, but I suppose that’s fine. Hard pass for me, though.
@chuckster88: THQ Nordic is becoming my favorite company for this reason. They may not make AAA games, but they don’t announce a release date unless it’s guaranteed to be ready on that day, without question. Above that, most of their games have very minimal bugs on launch and they get patched quickly.
