Believe me when I say that if there were a coercive way to stop piracy, then the corporations would have already adopted it.

Yup, this game is a real underdog, it has really diverse gameplay and a lot of funny moments as well. The only bad thing about it is its rather clunky control scheme, but you get used to it easy enough.

It's called marketing. A whole lot of marketing money has been put in promoting the new generation of consoles, so every kid with a fragile little mind to mess with (and their dog) has bought a console and is currently nagging his mommy to fund his console-game-buying rampage.

Therefore, console games sell better (at least in shops, because the kid can't be bothered with complex stuff such as on-line preorder, unless he's a real fanboy), which in practice, translates to PC games being gradually pushed off the shelves.

The graphics are obviously dated, but that shouldn't stop you from playing one of the Greatest Games of All Timeâ„¢.

In a good number of RPGs, how you build your character can matter just as much as your level. In Diablo 2, for example, there are some character builds that players found out work better if compared to any other character that has invested points in some other random skills. Here is, for example, an in-depth FAQ for a Necromancer character in Diablo 2 that should show you what I'm talking about.

Sometimes the way you play comes to complement the way you've built your character. For example, if you are a thief in a D&D game, you'll try to sneak to your opponent to make a surprise attack and get a 2x/3x/nx damage bonus by using Sneak Attack. The idea is to know the pros and cons of your skills and make the most of all of them in order to defeat your foes.

Try out the Alpha multiplayer build of Starsiege 2845. Or even try get a hold of the original Starsiege created by the now-defunct Dynamix, if you want a good story, but are content with aged graphics.

Mechwarrior 2 is also one of the most acclaimed games of the genre.

Does Uwe Boll still accept boxing as a way to settle disputes with people unhappy with his directing? 'Cause I'm getting ideas...

Duke Nukem 3D using keyboard only... I never could quite grasp that control scheme, therefore the game mostly ended up being "Duck Hunt" when I was around.

CounterStrike got boring in a minute, but I guess it's just me not playing with people I know well.
