i have a dg31pr, intel motherboard. on the site it says that its bus config is pci express 2.0. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=30815 . look at revision. but when i put my 4890 into there, it runs at 1.1. i havnt updated the bios since i bought the mobo a year ago or so. i cant find anything in the bios, and it is supposed to set it at what the card and mobo are capable of.if i have to update my bios, how do i go about doing it on intel boards.im only used to gigabyte and asus' EZflash

yay 9th best card ever. ive owned both 275 and 4890, and i find the 4890 better. by a tiny margin. min fps is usually higher, and max is usually a little higher also. average is on apr of the 2. im not an ati fan, in fact i love nvidia. i had 2 8800gts up until this 4890.

thats a driver error. nvl is a process for nvidias driver. try running in safe, clearing all drivers, and then installing form safe after a restart. clear with the 260, and install with the 260. i used to get the same thing with my 2600 xt when i forgot to clear drivers from my old 9600 pro. it would bsod anytime i gamed, even in gta sa.

ok, so i got a 4890. i havnt tried it out yet, i will monday. my motherboard has only a pci e 1.1 slot, not 2.0 would that still provide my card with 140 gb/s of bandwidth? will i see a significant performance slide at 1650x1080? what about 1920x1200? just wondering. i could get a new asus p5ql, i just dont want to. saving up for a new cpu. anyway, will i see a significant difference in performance, against normal 40 fps in crysis, very high, dx10, 1680x1050?

My pc is this:

DG31PR Intel mobo.

e5200 wolfdale PDC.

2gb Kingston Hyperx pc6400.

120gb ssd/500gb sata 2(seagate)

Powercolor 4890.

650w psu(1250w backup)

ok so i was going to get the 4870, but the 4890 was on sale. 4890 was 169.99 plus tax and shipping. the 4870 was 149.99 plus tax and shipping. i have a no hassle 30 day return. should i get the 4870? is it worth the extra 20$? i could get another gb of hyperx ram.

ok well i have a medium system.

specs are as follows:

pentium dual core e5200 @ 3.3ghz.(bsel mod)

2gb ocz pc 6400 memory.

intel dg31pr motherboard.

4x250gb sata 2 raid config. seagate barracuda.

well i need a video card.i was at first almost guranteed to get a 275, and i got positive reviews. but im not sure now. for the same price, i could get the following

Radeon 4870x2.

Radeon 4890

Geforce 260x2 (SLi)

or i could get a 5770, 5870.

what should i get? i have a 1250w psu so i dont need one of them. i have 1 pci express slot but i could upgrade my motherboard to an asus p5q. which gpu should i get in a 350$ range.

thanks, im not sure if i should use dx 10 or 9. i heard dx 10 gets like 8fps less. and i might put my e5200 down to 3.3 for more stability. not sure.
