@The-Longshot I do like me some 3D and ever since the PS3 started pumping games out for it I bought me a 3D TV that uses the movie glasses. It would be awesome playing the Mario 3D Land in 3D, but 3D honestly gets old and strains my eyes after only a few hours. Still I feel ya man it would be cool to have that feature since my TV has it. Would be better though if the TV just did it on it's own and the game companies didn't have to implement it.
@EddyG0RD0 The kiddie thing doesn't fly with me. Why because as a family man I love Nintendo. I might be a little nostalgic in my ways, but honestly even now games like Mario and Zelda no matter the milking they've done are still a blast to play. Sales of the titles speak for themselves. I agree the system could be more powerful, but the Wii U is powerful enough to deliver great visuals. That and the new controller is just pure genius and one that even Sony has tried to replicate with remote play.
Also it's an entertainment company. Greed is obvious. They aren't a childrens hospital.
@sirchick Correct. It's like OMG new and shiny and all logical thinking goes out the window. Who has the most games right now, who has the cheaper price and can give me the most enjoyment for my money? I mean I plan on getting a PS4 later when it hits 299.99 and the games are all out for it. It's the same reason I want to buy a Wii U now. Also being a PC gamer 299.99 is a good price for a graphics card, but a console for the same price is more appealing to me.
@sirchick I understand all that, but really I can't say that's a big problem. The Wii U isn't meant to be a media hub or wants to be. It's more like a feature and it's like that for all consoles. I agree it sucks that the previous consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 didn't have as many problems with those features, but still I have a PC for a reason. My biggest issue with the Wii U is that it was poorly marketed. It has tons of great features and to me the gamepad alone makes it more next gen than either the PS4 or XB1. I just wish it was marketed correctly so 3rd party devs would have jumped on board more.
So let me get this straight? Great bundle, great functionality, best game line up out of the three next gen consoles this holiday, third party support is a little lacking due to poor sales, but it's a wait? Hmmmm I really wish the media would start backing this thing especially if they are so tired of waiting on games and third party support.
@ninboxstation Fils isn't in charge of any of that. He's only a PR rep for the company. Iwata on the other hand is. While I think his vision is great his arrogance astounds me.
@Darth_Aloysius For me ever since the Wii came out I've loved the direction Nintendo has been going. I loved playing Mario Galaxy with the new Wii contoller and Zelda Twilight princess was by far one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years thanks to it. Some games didn't work well with it, but there were some that it fit perfectly. Aside from controls I was really wanting to see them make an HD console with something similar. Now they have and made a new controller to boot that adds so much more functionality as well as lets you use the old Wii controllers. My mind is completely blown by this thing. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!
How the system should have been marketed in my opinion.
