There's absolutely nothing wrong with the core gameplay of the franchise. The only thing that bothers everyone is Activision dishing out a new game with not much differences, short and shallow campaign, for $60 and the fact that people keep buying it only encouraging Activision to continue this milkage. The unecessary hate for the actual gameplay from the minor core gaming community is the result of Activision's business practice.

What people really should be complaining about are other developers trying to create CoD clones (Crysis 2 multiplayer demo felt just like Call of Duty except with an advanced suit it might as well have been Call of Duty: Future Warfare)

I feel the exact same except with Uncharted 1 and 2. (and 3).

Uncharted is the most overrated franchise this gen (possibly of all time) and I am mostly a cow. I cannot wait for next gen when Naughty Dog abandons this franchise and puts out something new.

I was just playing the beta BTW.

StrongDeadlift

In terms of new IP this gen, i'd say the first Gears of War was overrated, Uncharted 1 receivved good to great reviews, and it had it's flaws which was addressed in Uncharted 2 and was a clear improvement over the original.

In terms of MGS4's award for best technical graphics, I think the game received too much praise even for it's time and it happens to be one of my favourite games this gen and even I admit that. It's graphics haven't aged well.

Personally, the generation itself was pretty disappointing. I know I expected greater games, longer story-driven much like Half-Life 2 or just bigger worlds to explore in RPGs. Granted we got a few of those, (Oblivion and Fallout come to mind instantly, as well as Just Cause 2 for it's huge open-world with tons of easter eggs scattered in such a big sandbox) but I just expected them in greater quantity.

I remember MW2 had a similar teaser and IW attempted to minimize connections with the "Call Of Duty" brand, but this one we see "CALL OF DUTY" in big bold letters while MW3 is smaller in size and is just in acronym instead of "Modern Warfare 3"

When I was a kid, my brothers and I took turns playing the older Resident Evil games and Silent Hill for PS1. No other experience were scarier than those games at night in the dark. I remember one night the power went out while we were playing and it just creeped us out even more.

We recently tried the same thing with Dead Space 2 and it felt much more action-packed than being actually scary.

From the multiplayer demo it felt as if Crysis 2 was just trying to be another CoD clone except with super powers.

Reach on the other hand just feels and plays different (to me atleast) and Rocket Hog Race just proves that Halo multiplayer can be much more than "just another multiplayer shooter".

I was a PS plus subscriber at the time, that might be a possibility although I never downloaded it, I may have had the automatic download on at the time not sure. Thanks again, I'll try and clear up space on my HDD and confirm. whether or not it is the full game.

I bought the physical copy of the game around 2 or 3 days after release, I only recently checked my download history and found the full game 12gb in my download history dated the day after I activated my cerberus network code. Not sure why it's there, I never purchased the game digitally and I was never charged for it.

PS3 version for me since my brother and I can play co-op through steamworks since PS3 version comes with the pc version. Otherwise, I would've just gone for the PC version.
