@nickyparmar92: A lot more content than just the main missions that will keep you busy (unless you just try to power through it). The side stuff I did was interesting. I put in 24 hours across the two beta weekends and the content was locked down/level capped at 8. It'll provide more than enough fun to justify the cost. That said if you're looking for a game that lasts forever then this will not be that game, it will eventually end.
@ThePlantain: I hated Destiny, I love The Division. They really don't think they are alike. (24 hours played in betas).
For one, there are no wizards from the moon, it has a story, the Dark Zone is fun, coherent world/characters, guns that you can relate to, loot/talents/skills/crafting that is very straight forward and fits into the narrative, coop works well and is not limited, etc...
@marius_arilius: I'm just pissed that they bother to compare this game to Destiny. Destiny IS a bad game and The Division IS NOT a bad game. Obviously this is my opinion but everyone I play with regularly, agrees with the sentiment.
They could compare the same mechanics to borderlands, diablo, any other rpg - it's weird and annoying that this site in particular chooses to use Destiny for all of its comparisons.
@darksynced: Yeah... Destiny lasted me 3 hours before I was bored. I trudged on for another 12 and it didn't get any better.
I've got 24 hours in the very limited betas for The Division and that alone is why I purchased it (played it more than I play most games I buy and it hasn't even released).
It won't last forever but a good game anyways I think.
@lordtenchi: It's not like Destiny. I hated Destiny and I have greatly enjoyed this game (via several beta events). I'm very frustrated that Destiny is the only game that Gamespot can seem to find to describe basic RPG mechanics when Destiny didn't do any of them well.
Getting tired of the like Destiny references to mainstays of RPG gaming...
Leveling ends at max level and gear grind begins. Diablo did it, pretty much every MMO does it, etc... Daily/Weekly quests were done well before Destiny - most notably in WoW but many other games too.
Destiny sucks, please use a good game to compare things to.
@SavageEvil: Agree with most of this. After the closed beta in January they said they'd have anti-cheat up for release. Based on the limited closed beta the Dark Zone is basically there to get really great loot while also killing other players.
Once I got the max dark zone loot based on the level cap I was done with the beta and had no more reason to PvP. I wonder if the level 30 refresh of the Dark Zone will give players a reason to PvP beyond loot (no idea what that'd be). If not I'm still good with the amount of content.
@beantownsean: I just look at it as a game that I'm going to max out in and then quit. If something interesting comes out I'll come back to it, otherwise there are plenty of other games to play.
@xzerocarnagex: It is definitely better than Destiny or the one year later TTK expansion. That said, I really don't like comparing the two games, they aren't the same. For the price of Destiny (development wise) it should have been much more than it was or is.
