@PSYCHOV3N0M: How does the change make the game harder? From what I can tell all they did was make it so that the people you coop with have already beaten the content, thus trivializing coop even more - making the game easier.

@silversix_: So you say good but then mention how what was done makes the game require skill - so they should git gud. What was done makes the game easier so they don't have to git gud at all.

Argument is that coop should be blind run vs what they changed it to - the coop guy who gets summon can only be someone who already beat the content. The change made the coop gameplay even more trivial while also removing the fun of blind smashing it with a friend.

Bought my Vive the beginning of December and I'm having a blast. I had it in my cart at release but decided to wait til the end of the year to see how it evolved. I started off in my office but we are fortunate to have a room that's not in use so I converted it into a VR room - this isn't necessary to enjoy it but it is 100% true that the more space you have the better some of the experiences will be.

It reminds me a lot of when different gaming milestones occurred: Atari/Nintendo. Then Nintendo came out with its FX chip games (3d polygons basically) and it blew us all away. Then Playstation came out with its discs and awkward live action videos all over the place (but still cool in a b movie way - more polygons as well!). Then Wii with its hand motion controls. The Kinect with it's watch you motion controls. Now we've added the entire 360 view with motion and room scale.

Many devs don't know what to do with it yet but it is a lot of fun trying out their early experiments.

VR Games that I play just about every day:
-Audioshield
-Holopoint
-Thrill of the fight
-Smashbox Arena (Surprisingly fun - I hate the teleporting but the game works with it and actually turned the mechanic into a part of the gameplay strategy).

I'm also playing Vanishing Realms which has an interesting RPG elements, A Chair in a Room which is suspenseful, Island 359 which has newly added trackpad locomotion and reminds me to be afraid of dinosaurs but love weapon attachments, Raw Data because there are guns and robots, and a slew of wave shooters (please stop making these). The Budget Cuts demo has me extremely excited for the full game. Elite Dangerous is great in VR but I had to bump up supersampling in a config file.

Several devs are afraid of adding locomotion to the games due to potential motion sickness but using the controller to move around in addition to moving around in the play area has been fine for games that allow it. For those that get sick they could always add a center dot option to keep the sickness at bay (guessing here).

The biggest problems are: We need games with good stories (that'll come). We need locomotion in every game - this teleport stuff, while neat and possibly a cool steampunk/scifi ability, is not the only way to move around. Games like Island 359 which just patched trackpad locomotion into its game prove that people can survive without teleporting. Cheaper hardware/reduction in barrier to entry. Oculus to go open platform. Wireless headset tech (Chinese company is beta testing what is rumored to be great - we'll see if it's true).

I also lost 8lbs this month from the increased activity. My activity tracker/heartrate monitor go nuts while I'm playing and I don't even realize just how active I am. Lots of ways for people to get off their butts but I'm glad to see that there may be an option for gamers as well. It's an added bonus that I don't really idly snack because I'm standing up for the most part.

@o311rocks: No. I hated Destiny and I love this game.

It's like Diablo, Borderlands, and Gears of War had a baby.

@Thanatos2k: If you run into them for 3 seconds you go through them so what's the issue? The only real problem was the laptop issue and they fixed that pretty quickly.

Small beans man.

@sladakrobot: Not at all. They hHad about a 2.5 hour overload at launch (12am) and then the early AM downtime this past weekend. Other then that it has been solid. Online far more than it's offline.

Worth every bit of the price.
