@darksynced: I also like the show and wanna see them make more seasons but I prefer the shows to close off the story with a new one each season, rather then continue it endlessly like the current American trend.
The problem is that when there are a million shows in the market, nobody can keep up with them due to time. So the notion that Americans have that all shows need to be serialized is a huge detriment to the business as a whole. Because as a viewer I can't dedicate my entire life to watch one show just to get full story arc. For this reason most people will skip 90% of the shows each year and only pick the few shows that they wanna dedicate their life to. But if you close each show off with 1 story per season, like Asians do, then more people will watch more shows, because you know that the show will end and you will get to see a full story come to a completion.
With the way American shows are set up now, there is no way to know how long a show will drag before it wraps up the story, if the show doesn't get cancelled before the story wraps. This means people are gonna be very picky on what they invest their time in.
Its like Mr. Robot, I hear great things about it, but I have no clue how long they'll drag the story for, so I'm passing on what might have been a great single season show.
I think True Detective has it right, they use the Asian model, which is 1 story, 1 season, then move on. I would watch way more American shows if they adopted to that model.
