@laroche: I think he gave it a 7 due to the games story, with Atlus arc, it forced the gamer to question the meaning of life and the meaning of material wealth.

In other words he found the game to evoke deep philosophical thought which is rare in any video game, so that's why he gave it a 7.

Now if you find games that evoke philosophical thought to be pointless, than that's fine, but some of us do enjoy these types of artsy games.

@d-man: Dissing Yakuza as a weab game, shows how little you know of the franchise, Mr. accomplished actor. If you're so damned accomplished, you might have heard of Cannes, Yakuza has stars like Takeshi Kitano in the game, who has won multiple awards at Cannes for his brilliant acting, Einstein. So, no the game ain't no weab game, its acting is top class, and it an action games, not a story driven game as you call it.

If Yakuza an action driven game whose sole purpose to beat people's faces in, can have actors like Kitano delivering brilliant performances why can't a FPS have good actors? Again, you're lowering your expectations, sorry but I don't lower mine for anything, that's precisely why I don't watch low rent actors like you.

As for FPSs not having good acting, I seem to remember Call of Duty having actors like Kevin Spacey in it, so don't fcking tell me that I need to watch cringe worth acting to play a FPS.

If you can't see that then I honestly don't see how you can be an accomplished actor. And Shit actors always ask people for a demo reel when they get called out on their shitness, its like a basic defense mechanism or something. Wanna see good video game acting, "Her Story", "Yakuza 1-6 (Japanese VA), Mass Effect, Beyond 2 Souls, etc, etc. I don't lower my expectations of acting for games, I expect movie quality or nothing.

And if you think that this passes off an movie quality, then I really don't know what to say, other than I got some Korean soap operas I can recommend you.

It has nothing to do with entitlement, the same reason I don't watch student films is the same reason I expect games to have good acting. I don't lower my expectations for anything. You either do something well, or its not worth my time.

A gradeschooler can tell what's good and what's bad acting, if it doesn't sound natural and realistic, its bad acting, you don't need to be a trained actor.

If you can't tell that the game has really cheesy quality acting then I don't know what to say.
