war games, there are so many, so many good ones

I'm a big WWII fan i loved saving private ryan, and band of brothers, and i love war games, there are so many and that is a good thing because each attempt bring us that much closer to the supreme experience, don't you think. For example i was playing call of duty, a masterpiece by the way, and thinking, would this game be great with destructible envireoments and real time lighting and physics, and better up to date graphics, the answer is yes it would, but the game kicks but any way because though it lacks the technology of apraoching titles like brothers in arms , and moh pacific assault, it has the gameplay, and the design that is behind every great game. the sound of call of duty is magnificent, i love that game. and i can't wait for the expansion pack, and after that the sequel. because these guys know how to get it done.

graphics and gameplay

I've recently bought farcry, and played doom3, it's suppriseing how greatly graphics, realtime physics, AI, Lighting and so on can affect gameplay. In farcry for example, it wouldn't be nearly as atmospheric of a game if it didn't have the beautiful expansive enviroments, it's so free form it kicks ass, all i want now is a first person game with the freedom of gta and the graphics of doom3 or farcry, i love huddleing down in the jungle as mutants waddle past me panting loudly, then i hear a radio, suddenly followed by gun shots as the mercenary patrol decides to do me a favor and take out the mutants. i'll stand up turn on my night vision and enjoy the frenzy, magnificent. There are a few breif levels at the end were i got stuck because in the indoor combat agianst the humans is pretty strait foward but difficult none the less, otherwise the 20+ hours of gameplay were magnificent, i really liked the outdoor levels in the middle portion of the game though. Farcry had magnificent AI that would utilize the enviroment and covering fire perfectly, i've never been flanked so many times by AI aponents, note that the AI is a joke on the lower levels, but middle to uppper difficulties are great challenges. and if your comp can't handle the game by a long shot, build a new one, if you do it yourself you can make a kick ass computer for under 1000 dollars i truely recommend building a computer yourself, it's worth the effort and learning and time necessary. yeah but the most dissapionting thing about both farcry and doom3 is their multiplayer. farcrys control scheme is great for the single player, but onlineyou move like a freaking slug, and all the servres are laggy as hell. and doom3 multi player is just plain borring, looks preatty it does, but it's borring. both of these games need some magnificent mods, and it looks as if some are coming out soon. well till next time peace.

fast and furious shooters

Hey im a recent ut2004 fan, i owned every unrealtournament game and 2004 is the best every, there are so many options, not to mention mods out there. this game has the longest shelf life every you could play this game and its mods clear into next year and the following year. its like half-life were it rides on it's own grateness and the greatness of the mods concieved for it. another game to keep your eye on in the way of mods, far cry, with a graphics engine like that i think there is so much potential. Has any one here played the new tribes, well i've had my fingers in it for a while and i can't tell any details except its good. it looks great for being in beta, the last beta build i played before tribes was joint ops and that was painful, were as tribes is a pleasure, i only had one minor problem with it, and that was a minor problem, problably just my different taste since i'm not an old school tribes junkie, but this game could blow ut2004 out of the water if they play thier cards strait. the graphics are good-great, the gamplay paceing is perfect the weapons kick ass, just wish there were more of them, vihicles kick ass, yeah all in all , it looks spectacular, but then again this is only the beta build and it can only get better, yipee. till next time, bye.

ww2

I recently played the new medal of honor pacific assault demo, and found myself greatly impressed with this games potential, at first i thought it would follow the now very borring formula of the previous medal of honor franchise, but instead i found myself fighting alongside inteligent comrades who had personalities, and were capable of holding their own. in the latter part of the demo you man a machine gun turrent and try to blow stuff out of the sky, the explosion animations are first rate. i really liked the animations for the japenesse, there leaders would whip out their katanas and preform a bonzie charge, fearless and frightning they are. the fire animations seems a little behind the curve, i was a little dissapionted it really subtracts from the explosions when the fire looks out of date. my only real beef with the demo is that it follows the heavily scriptedness of its forebearers and because of that none of you buds get killed until they are scripted to, so they'll take more lead than you sometimes and keep on going, but from what i saw in the demo the game is heading in the right direction, especially with the addition of a medic character, i only wish that your teamates could actually die, that would add to the sense of ergency. at this point i think that medal of honor might pass up call of duty, but how will the new brother in arms manage? brother in arms looks potentially mind blowing, and the multiplayer has the potential to be revolutionary, can you imagine wealding an AI team in multi player to pit both your fps reflexes and your tacticle prowess against your enemies, that would make for some great gameplay. but we'll just have to wait. until then i play battle field, rtcw mp, or call of duty to get my fps WWII fix. rtcw has magnificent mp, my only problem with it is that the engine sucks and is as lagy as a whore, but the great thing about it is that the developers weren't afraid like most others would have been, when you play most online games they hold back on the power of explosive weapons usually, not rtcw, you shoot a rocket laucher into a bunker and no one is gonna come out, nothing is coming but a huge explosion that is so great and fantastic that no even ut2004 can compare. I truly love this game. BAttle field, that game is timeless, but i have many problems with it, you'll never find a good servre with more than 40 people on it, there are never enough freakin vehicles, being a foot soldier isn't that much fun because you move to slow, the weapons don't have a good kick to make you feel like you are fire any sort of fire arm, the exploions are really weak sauce, i wouldn't mind the lack of vehicles if being a foot soldier kicked ass too, but it doesn't, but yet somehow this game is adicting, and i love it, the massive battles are a great experience when they happen just right it is something to behold. i personally want to see a battlefield with graphics like farcry, or better yet a farcry mod that changes it to battle field, because lets face it, farcrys multiplayer sucks and needs some mager patching. that's enough complaning for now, until next time peace out

what now

i'm level two but this typeing thing take way too long to type my way to level two this sucks, is there another way.

happy

i'm level two i'm happy yes that last journal entry put me over the edge now i'm level two ha ha

soul power

i just saw the review for soul caliber here on gamespot and was blow away, 8.5 thats not fair, first consider that this is a counsel game and then compare it to the other best fighting games out there, especially the 3d fighters and you'll see the trueth, that this game is inexplicably brilliant and that there is no end to the fun one can have with a buddy while playing versus extra mode, what wear they smoking.

gamespot

i've been reading gamespot reviews for nearly 6 years now and i've come to realize that the player reviews are were it's at, this is were the pet peaves come through so i finally decided i want to write reviews, well turns out that you need a rating of 6 or higher, and the only way i know to raise my rating is to write to myself in this jounal thing, so go up percentage thing go up so that i can write reviews for the games i love and the ones i hate, (rarely ever hate a game). yeah

valve

valve, who actually thinks that the wait will be worth it, thye keep flashing us stuff, only to pull away, i doubt that hl 2 will come out even by next year.

mehcs

I consider myself pretty knowledgeble about games, for a while gaming was my life. if there is one avenue of gameing that is underdeveloped in a way so that this aspect or type of game has never reached it's full potential it's the mech franchise, more particularly the mech warrior games. They all suffer from major flaws, every last mech game. And as a rabid fan of games in general, and of the mech franchise, i always found my self torn, these games have such a lush wonderful world to draw from, and yet there are always aspects of the gameplay that lag behind or are missing all together. my favorite fps mech titles are mech 2 and mech 4. they both are extremely strong in one area or another. mech two is famous for the jump jet skid ability, something that made the fire fights in the game that much more intense, this wonderful option was completely missing from mech 4. the great uptake thought was the graphics the reality of how many wonderfuly distinct weapons there wear to choose from, and the diversity of kick ass mechs that were so much fun to custimize. mech 4 has another great problem, the damage modeling, you can be the freacking hugest mother freacking mech and have two heavy gauss rifels and two clan ppc cannons and preform an alfa strike on a raven, three times! before he'll go down! Something that has never really been in any of the games is a cockpit shoot (head shot) and it really should be, it would ad alot more to the intensity of walking through the open, take away from the slow lumbering battles that ensue in what sometimes seems like slow motion. something that i praise mech assault for, is the great jumpjet controls, the wonderful damage modeling, and the the destructable enviroments. i still can't believe that the pc has never had a mech game with destructable enviroments. the ultimate mech game would have the best aspects of mech2 mech4 , a touch of mech three(the really cool cockpit animations like the glass craking, and such), with some of the greatness that was in mech assault, ad more inteligent teamate AI, the ability to control a number of vihicles like tanks and long tom atilary , doom 3, or beter graphics, cockpit shots, and finally all these glorious options to multiplayer. shake, stir and wuala a game that will stand on it's own as long as halflife has, if not longer. opps forgot lots of expansion packs bringing more and more mechs to the table on a 6 month basis, and forgot mod tools, for even more mechs.

thank you that is all for now

pardon the misspellings
