postal the movie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt_tv7t79WY&feature=related

check it out it's the new uwe movie postal, first five minutes. i have to say despite the rather disrespectfull context the material is very good. too bad he couldn't find a more politically correct way to make this movie.

farcry 2

farcry 2 looks like the shooter i've always wanted, correct me if i'm wrong but there has never been a game like this, stalker siad it was but ultimately it was a static world with mutants and scripted missions even if the game is meant to be a persistent title it really isn't. farcry2 looks like the game GTA and STALKER should have been. i would say Farcry 2 is only remotely possible because of technological advances but GTA3 proved the capability of a determined design team.

to settle the score

ok so i was listening to some pc gamer podcast and after gaz and others fighting about crysis across three different pod cast's i decided i should give the demo another try. i originally played the demo and thought it needed to much to run well on my pc, i couldn't settle for lower than high settings with max monitor res of 1920X1200 because on my 24 inch the pixlation is rather annoying. but any way, i set it to 1920X1200 on medium settings throughout, and wow, this game still looks pretty darn good in motion, sure certian things are simplified i was running simpler physics among other things but this game still looks on par with call of duty 4 at max settings on my pc, gosh. ok visuals don't make a game, but the technical aspects of this game create the greatest gameplay experiences honestly nothing ever quite hit on the consoles like the pc far cry, sand box carnage on a epic scale, well if you liked farcry come back and try crysis it's better in every single aspect, and not just marginally. you have a nano suit, customizeable weapons, and some wicked sweat AI, the major problem i have with this game is that similar to farcry this game has a mechanic that effectively breaks the AI, and that's the cloak on the suit! that siad it is a neccessity, i played through the demo on delta since it was my third time, and you really need every aspect of the nano suite to have a fighting chance. the enemy AI and enviroments are so real it's simply facinating, i want some even larger levels than in the demo even though mind you the demo level is huge. i just love the fact that i can drive my car through the shanty buildings, knock over trees, blow up shacks with HE grenades, punch through ceilings for suprise attacks, i mean i've played the demo three times, and never the same way each time. gaz complains that the game doesn't have a direction, i love that the game doesn't have direction, it is linear for story purposes but that is it. i honestly don't understand alot of the complaints leveled at the game. oh and i can't wait to play the game on higher graphical settings with a second card installed or something to that effect.

basically i'm saying after messing with the demo and playing the multiplayer beta earlier that Crysis and World in Conflict are my two favorite Games this year and they are pc exclusive for the time being. oh and i also love bioshock and orange box, and guess what the pc is the home for both of those titles even if they aren't exactly exclusive, the pc versions are the deffinative ones.

game remakes, or adaptations?

well currently the only game remake we've ever had is doom 3, resident evil, any non scary games, there is the black mesa mod for hl2. but with the youth of the industry when will we hit critical mass like the film industry and start seeing remakes? and how do you feel about that, i loved that doom3 was a remake of doom, and resident evil was remade on the cube.

also who feels what about the lag of this generation of cards, like say how week ATI's cards are and how that influenced the launch schedule for nvidias geforce series. also, what ever happened to jhon carmak? ET quake wars was the sadest sequel i've played, well except halo 3, no worse than halo3.

one thing i'm proud of.

i take extreme pride in my reviews, not only do i play and own every game i review, but i honestly tell you how much i play the game, for my last review i reviewed command and conquer 3 and i siad, i didn't play this game too much and i siad why and i also mentioned that many of my compaints are left out since i didn't want to speak in ignorance about a game i only speant 60 dollars and 20 hours on.

there isn't anything special about my game reviews except how horrible 95 percent of user reviews are. "i played the demo and..." or "i watched my friend play one time at his place for thirty minutes" they just need to make a forum post or comment board on the bottum of every review like they do for previews so idiots who don't own a game don't review it.

thanks to all my friends who right good well balanced reviews. oh and who saw ign's greatest games of all time list, i can't believe they put in puzzle games like pacman and tetris, both great games but devoid of level design and such i feel like they don't count the requirements on a puzzle game aren't half of a real game. pong is about the only exception it's the first sports game and isn't on there and in general i felt that games like doom half life, mario 64, mario 3 and super mario world were to far back on the list. also i didn't agree with orcana of time being ahead of mario 64.metroid prime should have been further up there too. not to mention grim fandango was like the only adventure game. and metal gear solid 2 got on the list but three didn't, three was way better. sometimes i feel like a frachise like MGS or Mario needs to be condensed into a franchise since there are so many entries. also GTA 3 made the list, um did any one play GTA1 or 2, cause 3 was just those games in 3D.
