@mediastupid1: Atari patches that you could get by mail. You are equating that to the Achievement system? Why not go back to when you got a sticker from the teacher for playing Candyland. Xbox did well because people feel bad for them? That's your reasoning. Maybe stay out of gaming

@mediastupid1: OK Everquest. You could have gone back to Ultima Online if you were really trying to sound old and wise. Server side saves are not the same as cloud saves. Ever quest is not a console platform holder

@mediastupid1: Let me show you the quotes of very prominent figures in the late 80s and early 90s saying the internet was a fad. Consumer's dictate where the market goes. Spotify has not destroyed going to a show, seeing a band live and buying all their merch. Just like Game Pass isn't going to destroy some people buying a game. As far as Xbox destroying console gaming ...lets see they invented Achievements, Online party system , cloud saves (free on xbox) , they implemented universal back compat with every game (assuming licensing isn't an issue) and added HDR and FPS boosts for some of those. And they implemented a 1 time buy so you buy it on Xbox you own on PC as well. They may be behind Sony but they have pushed consoles farther than any other platform holder.

I have seen a lot of concern online about Xbox management for some weird reason and I think this actually shows the improvement of management. This team is the same one that ditched kinect, bought 10 studios not counting Activision, created Game Pass and was the highest rated publisher on Metacritic for 2021. Delaying these games is the right move if the teams creating the games think its the right move. Period. If this year suffers so be it. If you want to garner the same reputation that Sony has with their first party you can't just force a game to come out.

I know that the "where is the gameplay" people are already here but I really dont get it. Bethesda literally does this with every game. This isn't new. You will get gameplay at the Xbox showcase roughly 6 months before release just like every other big Bethesda game.

This maybe battle royale like but I think the Certain Affinity mode is what you are looking for.

Gaurdians of the Galaxy and Flight Sim deserve a mention. Everyone should play flight sim at least once just to fly over their own house.

@thecupidstunts: Everyone who comes to Gamespot is aware, most people have no idea what Starfield is. But he wasn't actually talking about the game. In truth he was talking to the FTC and the Justice Department. We want our games everywhere and we want to lower the barrier to play them. He just used Starfield as an example because its big and it comes out relatively soon.

@zerojuice: 30 million for Skyrim. Thats sales. There are 25 million right now that dont have to buy it. Then if MS gets a TV app for Game Pass the addressable market reaches billions.
