@erico316: But you are still going to have people who buy on both PC and Xbox plus people who might not like massive RPGs try it on Gamepass. Then what happens if this year they release an app for TVs where you dont need a console? It very much could be the most played Elder Scrolls even without Playstation

@erico316: With Game Pass removing the 60 or 70 dollar barrier on Xbox and PC ....more people will play this game. They just will.

For those that don't follow this stuff. The FTC "investigates" every acquisition. As a matter of fact the FTC never gives "permission" for an acquisition they just deny them. They just stop investigating. This is so the FTC can come back in 10 years or whatever and say hey we feel a little different about this acquisition. So basically all a merger needs to go thru is for the time period for the FTC to investigate to expire.

Consider thar 68.7 billion is the biggest acquisition in Microsofts history and that it's a 2.2 trillion dollar company. Sony is 7% the size of MS and has some debt already on the books. I don't think there is anyway Sony makes an acquisition over 20 billion. And that would mean a company with a market cap of around 12 billion.

@fatman98: Now that we know the contracts and that COD stays thru 2023. I would bet that the next COD is either not on Playstation OR that Playstation and Xbox have reached a deal to get GP on Playstation

@fatman98: In theory I agree with you. They absolutely want to be on Playstation. But they want Halo on Playstation too. They want Game Pass just like Netflix or Apple TV or Amazon. Just an app on a device , that is what they are driving for and getting leverage to get Game Pass on Playstation or even better Nintendo would be more valuable to them than initial sales.

@fatman98: War zone makes 1.9 billion a year and the yearly releases make a little less. So cut that in half....cause MS will release on Steam which will likely drive numbers up. Either way say it's 750 million they lose. To MS that is the marketing cost to drive up Game Pass subs. I would not take "it's our desire" to mean every CoD comes to Playstation without Playstation giving something up. Like Game Pass on PS
