I agree. There's just so much potential in the thing it's hard not to get excited. By the end of the year, us PS3 owners should have enough games to keep us busy for a long time. I also hope we get a few more firmware updates to keep things improving.
Obviously you're too young to have learned any fundamental economic principles; let me elaborate.
If only one company were to manufacture video game consoles (or any product for that matter), it would allow that company to establish a monopoly in the console market. Monopolies allow companies to jack up prices while working less to produce new and innovative ideas. The people that reap the benefits of this are not the consumers by any means; consumers (like you and I) then get to pay much more for less, and if any consumers have a problem with the situation they are pretty much out of luck since there are no competing products that can be purchased instead. Perfect competition is the only reason that any of the technologies we take advantage of are at the level they are.
So, hopefully you now understand a little bit about the way businesses function, and are able to make more informed posts in the future. If not, then good luck with your little "Revolootion!!" of which I will not be a part of in any way for the reasons mentioned above.
My PS3 has never froze or behaved erratically and I got mine for Christmas. It's a very reliable system; all it needs now is a new batch of games to keep me interested.
