@3v1LR0n1N @keldarironfist I wish that were the case. But companies go where the money is, and that right now is "quantity".

@XxTheEvilxX @keldarironfist Companies were delivering far richer, less costly, and more varied experiences across the board from western and eastern developers prior to xbox 360 and the dudebro gaming movement.

Now all we have are a lesser and lesser big publishers producing physical games (the type you actually *own*), and most are the type I am calling out as being derivative and foul here.

And now the Japanese are having to cater to the insane sales numbers and tastes of this ridiculous demographic just to stay afloat due to the rising production costs brought on and pushed primarily from the west, especially M$ and Epic.

Artistry (something the japs mastered) has taken a nosedive, while dudebro polygon teabagging stat driven multiplayer bullshit is largely what american kids have grown up with now. So ya, I am hostile to what has happened to the wonderful diversity that gaming used to be.

@3v1LR0n1N @02050muh @93ChevyNut Absolutely (it was a fine game), and many of the developers have essentially said that it was a way to make a western style gear of bros game more palatable to japanese tastes.

@02050muh @93ChevyNut Stop being "Elitist" for wanting diversity and quality in games to come back sir.....just because some americans play the occasional *** game (which is fine btw, nobody was saying that wasn't the case).

@charlesdao @keldarironfist Having an opinion must mean someone is trolling. Whatever would the internet do without it's white knights.

@XxTheEvilxX @keldarironfist Absolutely. So you and some others are an exception? That;s fine, but the sales numbers here reflect the majority, and the majority is ruining what used to be a rather fantastic hobby.

I love western games and grew up PC gaming, but most of them are from a different era before ever increasing budgets and silly buzzowrds like "AAA" and "core gamer" took over when M$ and crew pushed that shit starting with the 360. The hobby has turned into what it has because companies see the sales behind shitfests like CoD, and every other samey boring set peice driven grey brown game to come.

@93ChevyNut It's a good word to describe my feelings absolutely, that's why I used it. Glad that came through.

@3v1LR0n1N @keldarironfist Valve is focused on its money printing "we don't have to make awesome games anymore" service IE: steam. Valve is quite interested in doing away with physical games, so I am quite hostile to them. But that's really a separate discussion apart from metal gear rising here.

@jawadhasan3 @keldarironfist It's a far more rare thing to see games from this generation originating from japan to get scores like that. There are always going to be exceptions.
