Yeah, I liked the action, but it seemed to be going in a different direction than I thought it would. Perhaps there are depths the trailer doesn't reveal.

yea i was hoping for more adventuring and psychological/survivor horror elements. but we only saw a brief bit during the night, the daytime scenes may be very different.

It actually reminded me of this gen's Alone in the Dark. Please don't hit me >_>

no hitting lol.i hope it doesnt turn out that way there are too few games like this these days.

[QUOTE="keldarironfist"]how witty. but save yer news flashes. im well aware what they are in the business of NOW. and i can tell you im certainly not in a minority. gamers watch these events. not soccer moms and the people you speak of who want to shake there butt in front of a console while they twitter. why do you think the crowd was so silent during this whole thing, they could tell....spare me your platitudes about business and telling me companies dont build and sell things for just me,thanks buddy.Archangel3371

No problem. :P By all means then carry on with your, "I want, I want! I need, I need!" mentality.

what i want happens to be what many want sir not just me so yer characterization is again false that its one sole person unhappy with how things have taken shape. but hey some tool has to play devils advocate so i understand,

I am surprised at the reaction here. Are we that opposed to anything that hints at a mini game. The hatred for this Natal thing is crazy. Yes some of the applications they showed for it was stupid, but the possibilities for gaming and even just interacting with any type of electronic is endless. Thats was awesome technology. Even the stuff they showed with netflix and movies was impressive. Plus they had a great show in terms of games as well. they wasted no time on sales figures, they just showed game after game. Had some big annoucements. They nailed Splinter Cell exclusivity (damn them), they have that awesome 2D Epic game coming. They showed the first footage of a lot of games. They had great gameplay demonstrations. It was a great show. dvader654
i think its justified partially at least. new tech for interaction is fine, but get that to us when you have real content and the tech has improved. all they did was try to take swipes at nintendo. and to be fair nintendo as well is guilty of employing these gimmicks and have released one of the most successful but worst consoles they have ever made. i think the hate comes from the fact that people are used to gamepads, they like them. and they work just fine.

Exactly! I dont get how anyone could see all the stuff they showed this year and not be impressed by it. Especially compared to last year which was embarrassing yet no one really cared. Now they've finally shown some new tech, great exclusives and MGS5 yet the reception has been still somewhat lukewarm.

I'd give them an A too. Yeah, the third party multiplatform demos went on for a bit too long and the camera hopping and flailing about was embarrassing but the other good stuff completely overshadows those gaffes. This is how you do a press conference!

I give the show a B overall, myself. The one game I was kinda stoked about seeing, Alan Wake, didn't really impress or wow me in any way when I finally saw it...again, probably because I wasn't expecting it to be what it was, and most of the other game announcements were okay and neat, but not too many new/interesting announcements for me outside of Metal Gear Rising.

It was generally good, but I didn't get wowed by much of it, and not by most of the Natal stuff, even.

[QUOTE="BladesOfAthena"]I'd say it was definitely better than all 3 of the conferences that aired last year. I'm really interested to see how Milo and Project Natal turn out. Overall, I'd give it a solid A. *thumbs up*Skylock00

im with you on Alan wake ive been waiting on this game for awhile,i was a tad underwhelmed by it as well. but im still optimistic about it. splinter cell didn't look half bad either.albeit very different from the old stuff.

its kinda sad how games are so expensive now that we only see endless sequels and less platform exclusivity. before we didnt have terms like "core audience" and all this nonsense. it was just lots of good games for gamers. no weve got one or two good games shown here. alan wake and maybe splinter cell. and the rest of the press conference is nonsense.

[QUOTE="keldarironfist"]i blame all all three manufacturers for bringing us to this craptacular point in gamingSkylock00
Well, in all fairness, Nintendo's the least guilty of bringing in social networking and media stuff, since the Wii is the least built as a media player, and social networking platform, and has been the most focused as a gaming console of the 3, but that's beside the point. MS and Sony are both doing what Nintendo is doing - appealing to people who don't play games, MS and Sony are just doing it moreso through focusing on multimedia functionality and the such.

thats fair,i dont think they are all equal to blame here, but i think this conference shows where things are going and i as a real gamer just want to see games, not all this other nonsense.
