Microsoft announced today that it has sold more than 17.7 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide to date. Furthermore, the software giant announced that it has sold more than 8.1 million copies of Halo 3 since its launch September 25, 2007 while Mass Effect reached 1.6 million units sold in just six weeks since it went on sale!

Microsoft also reminded that Xbox 360 owners spend more on software and accessories than the other platforms, with the Xbox platform enjoying a record-high software attach rate of 6.9, according to November NPD data.

That report is pretty funny. I went into multiple stores in Austin TX (Wal-Mart, Target, Best-Buy, Circuit City) during the BlackFriday weekend and I can tell you there were zero 40 gig PS3's. I saw a lot of the 80 gig's though but never saw a 40 gig.

Funny enough I saw no Wii's (as usual, very rarely ever see one anyways) but I saw a lot of Elite, Prem, and Halo special edition X360 for sale. I did think that was kind of funny. COD4 was also on sale in one retail outlet for $39.99 and all the X360 versions were sold out while there were a lot of PS3 versions available.....but they had no 40 gig PS3's and lots of X360's. Kind of funny how that worked out.

There are not many system seller, halo, maybe mgs, but defiantly not UT3, plus look at the review on the pc, its really not getting great reviews(I'm talking about high 90's) and you know pc graphics are better the ps3/360.
