Tigerdirect has at $1400.00 comp with 2 HD-5770 in Crossfire. I basically want a graphics card as powerful as a gtx 570 card. Will this be as powerful?? also which of the two is more powerful below, the 2 5770 in crossfire orthe dual gtx 460 SLI sold refurbished by dell, and is the difference significant?

The comps cost about the same, but tigerdirect won't make me pay for a year which i like. but i won't go with the tigerdirect if the dell is much more powerful. basically, i want to know that although a single 5770 is rather weak, will dual cards like above be as strong as the gtx 460 in sli or a single gtx 570. thanks

the reason i'm thinking about going for dell outlet/refurbished is because my ibuypower comp crapped out after a year, and i believe the warranty with dell allows a tech person to come to my home. i assume that's better than sending to california for a few weeks to fix. the comp below costs about 1500.00. again, it sounds like from the comments that this video card (dual) below is better than the gtx 570--tell me if you disagree.

I'd prefer to have it built for me by someone i know and trust, but i don't know anyone here in atlanta. and no i will not build it myself!!!! Does this look like a good deal below? i assume the warranty will protect me if dell made the comp poorly (since they have to come to my house to fix it)?

that's probably true but my old comp with the 295 is completely caput. My real question is whether the dual 460 sli card is as good as getting a gtx 570, or almost as good; and whether it is as good a video card as my old 295

I would like to buy the overclocked 570 gtx graphics card with the above listed motherboard.

EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1572-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Someone in the newegg forum said I needed a 1200 watt PSU, but the specs say:

550 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 38 amps on the +12 volt rail.

Are they talking about the same thing (I know very little about computers) I currently have a 750 watt corsair with 60 amps. Is this enough to use the graphics card? Do i need to buy a 1200 watt PSU, whatever that means??

thanks

also can anyone tell me what cheap 1 terabyte harddrive I should buy and if my fan/powersuppy is enough for all this?

ok, so I will go with the gtx 570 and the motherboard named

ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

tell me if you disagree. also is there a cheap but decent 1 terabyte harddrive I could buy? I already have one and a half terabytes, but want to add another. is that a problem and will my corsair 750 watts with 60 amps be ok with all this? thanks!

the

MSI X58M LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard is a bit cheaper.

Does everyone agree that I should go for this? Also, that the dx11 card is worth getting to future proof? Is the gtx 570 still ok? the gtx 580 is probably too expensive for me!

well, I have decided to buy a gtx 570 graphics card so i can use dx11. Previously I had an ASUS P6T SE motherboard but it burned out (please don't talk about the warranty, as asus tells me they will only fix it, rather than give me a replacement , and this will take more than two weeks whihc i can't afford to be without my computer so long)

The motherboard I listed above seems to be discontinued as i can't find it on amazon, newegg or tiger direct. Can you pls tell me what motherboard i should use that's not too expensive? i have a i7 920 with corsair 750 watt (60 amps)

also I REALLY want to play total war shogun with dx11 and tesselation. do you think a dx11 card will make a fairly big difference graphically over my current gtx 295 card?
