With console getting uber-ized I really wish in the future they would start supporting multiple monitors. Can you imagine buying two Xbox Scorpios, chaining them together for multiple processing power and gaming in ultra resolution on a triple display with racing games? Forza in 3 panel surround? That will quickly convert some PC gamers.
I think if both console makers can just get their best hardware out there to get games running at 4k/60 they can easily go back to to the longer life cycles of 5-10 years. Microsoft announcing the under powered Xbox One with the majority of early games running at 720p just after consumer 4K TV's starting becoming affordable was so stupid and short sighted. PS4 still not hitting 60fps either.. We need a complete refresh where both party's are at 4k/60 to catch up with the rapid adoption on 4K and let the games sell the consoles like they use to. I've already got 3 4K tv's in my house and now Optima has announced their sub $2000 4K HDR projector. It's foolish for any new hardware, gaming or otherwise, no NOT be full 4K HDR ready in terms of ALL it's features, that includes gaming.
@playstationzone: I doubt it will be as expensive as most people feared. As a long time Xbox gamer then now PS4 convert I look forward to seeing how much better the multi platform games truly are as they claim.
Bethesda... acting as if they still don't quit understand the whole how to develop a proper video game thing...
It only takes one badly handled game on any particular platform to make a lasting and negative impression on smaller minds. The console kids had a field day when Batman Arkham Knight took a dump on PC as if the PC was to blame. Same will be said for the PS4 Pro. Prey has been so poorly managed on that platform it will outshine all the other amazing experiences that already exist and deserve everyone's attention.
But on the other hand, if Sony really wanted the Pro to succeed, they would mandate certain features and NOT allow the developers to decide how best to screw things up. Same goes for Scorpio, for it to succeed as an "enthusiast" console, Microsoft can't let devs make stupid decisions and be lazy when it comes to utilizing the hardware that best fits why the gamer bought it in the first place.
No one bought the PS4 Pro for better shadows, they bought it for higher framerates and higher resolutions for 4K TV's. Something Prey completely lacks and therefore cannot honestly claim as "Pro Enhanced". Same things people will be buying Scorpio for.
