@kadaverhagga: I'm a gamer and game where it's best. I know the improvements from 900p or 1080p to 1440p/1800p are dramatic if you don't sit too far away. I'm at around 4 feet from a curved OLED and it's remarkable. It's a deticated gaming area off my main theater room where the screen size 125" 1080p (not good for gaming) and not a living room type situation. Based on your viewing distance, the HDR might be the better draw over the resolution. All multi plats on PC all the way. Console for exclusives. So the console sits a while in between must have 1st party releases.. I don't mind it. Also go for the best to utilize all your tech. You have a 4K TV, you get the Pro. At the very worst you still get improved downsampled resolution to 1080p with better bells and whistles and sometimes higher framerates.

Nintendo did an excellent job charging lots of money for what is essentially and empty plastic shell.

Kind of a strange "event" unless they have ulterior motives with shifting sku's around. The Slim guts can be put into any cheap shell for clearance purposes.

@kadaverhagga: You must not have a large 4K tv with HDR then. No one with the proper hardware has ever said it wasn't worth it. Or, you are not configured correctly.

@sealionact: I know they won't be much better. But classic Microsoft hype with their most powerful in the history of the world propaganda, I expect to be blown away.

@expredator: Another reason that no one wants to admit is Microsoft can con it's Gold members with giving them old games all over again instead of the new ones they are wishing for. Also, the deal with EA Access has old games to help populate the content as well as Xbox's new monthly rental plan is packed full of old games. They tricked everyone by not providing any new content and flooding all the services with old played out crap giving the illusion of value. Seems to me there is more intent to not give gamers anything new and that has fooled everyone into assuming Sony is dropping the ball by not doing the same thing.
