Monitors with built in speakers typically have the small plug. the 360 vga cable comes with the red-white to small plug adapter anyhow so you should be fine. And yes both of those monitors you have listed claim to have integrated speakers so... things should be good to go.
Yeah, but if CH-DVD is really HD-DVD "with a Chinese twist," besides the Chinese market, will there be a market for it elsewhere? Somehow I doubt it... :?

The main point of interest in that article is how physically similar a CH-DVD player would be to a an HD-DVD player. So if company x, y, and z were all making CD-DVD players they could also easily be making HD-DVD players to sell into HD-DVD markets at very low prices. Anyone with a $30 dvd player raise their hand... and now tell me the name brand on it ;)
doesn't look fixed man... but yeah, I avoid 3rd party controllers at any cost, even if it would just be my friends using it for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th player.

My distaste for EA has been fading, especially with games like Skate, nhl 08, and army of two. Hell, I'm even excited about a need for speed game again.
don't forget about ch-dvd (very similar to hd-dvd)! link I really hate investing in movies in a situation like this... I think I'll be only renting for awhile.
I'm going to be playing nhl 08 :D, I'll get halo pretty quick after launch though. I remember picking up my halo 2 pre-order 4 days or so after the launch and getting a strange look from the clerk.
for 360 you need a mic with a mini-plug, usb won't work. I dont' know what your budget is but have a look at these. Tritton AX360 link You should be able to find them at newegg (us) or tiger direct (ca) if you're in north america. If you're in the UK a different manufacturer sells them, i don't remember the name.
