You guys are recommending gaming rigs lol u don't need those for wow. Get an HD4670, put it in any dell/hp computer made within the last year, ?????, profit.

shakmaster13

A 4670 isn't going to MAX WoW... LIKE HE ASKED

My dad's 4850 barely maxes WoW @ 1920x1080 on his 48" LCD TV...

I think that says it all tbh. SO the 5770 would be overkill? I think so right now, unless you see this a future investment. I use a 4850 slightly OCd at 1680x1050, play crysis warhead all high, no AA, great framerate. Everything else, maxed out, with 4xAA.polarwrath11

The 5770 performs UNDER the 4870 and it cost s about the same as a 4890 BEFORE MIR.

HIS HD 4890 - $179.99 + $20 MIR

XFX HD 5770 - $174.99

For $1000 USD anyways though you'd had to sacrifice on components for an i7 rig.

An i5 rig for $1000 would be better for gaming.

Yeah, all SATA cables are the same. All retail motherboard will come with 4 to 6 or more SATA cables in the box with it.

The 5770 is UNDER the performance of the GTX 260 AND HD 4870. If your going DX11 do NOT get a 57XX card because your paying more for less. If you want a HD 5 series card, save up the money for a HD 58XX card.

Well I know Tigerdirect is based out of illinois , Newegg ships from Ca, NJ , and Kentucky. So it all depends on where they are shipped from and where you live. So a good rule of thumb is to allow 1 to 1 1/2 days per time zone if its UPS during buiness week(M-F) , I would guess Fedex is close. Now if its being shipped with DHL or standard mail expect 7-12 days.04dcarraher

He is talking about when is Newegg going to get them in stock...

TSMC, the chip maker for BOTH AMD and Nvidia, is having problems with their 40nm process on their GPUs.

In September they got a new production machine for the 40nm process and they are getting it online now, slowly, so you should start seeing a rise in GPU availability here in a few weeks.

Right now AMD is only ABLE to ship out a couple thousand GPUs to board makers for e-tailers and retailers because TSMC is having yield problems.

AMD hopes that by the end of November or before Christmas shipments of 58XX cards will increase to the tens of thousands per week.

Kingston HyperX T1 Series 2x2GB DDR2-1066
Antec EarthWatts 750w

If you want to save about $60 you can get a GTS 250 instead, which is a rebadged 9800 GTX+.

MSI GTS 250 TwinFrozr - $129.99 - $10 MIR = $119.99

4770 plus a dual core CPU is about all you would need at that resolution.

XFX HD 4770 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150369

AMD Athlon II X2 240 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103688

Subtotal - $171

Though for maxing(YOUR NOT GOING TO MAX CRYSIS) you could get a GTS 250

MSI GTS 250 -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127445

If you really want to spend $100 on a CPU you can pick up an AMD Athlon Quad core for $99

AMD Athlon II X4 620 -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706

You can still use the RTM version of Windows 7 until June if you just want to hold off buying a OS for right now. If your a college stupid or know someone who is, you can get them to purchase Windows 7 for you for $30.

You don't NEED a sound card now these days unless your an audiophile or have a lot of audio equipment that requires a HIGH END sound card.
