Considering that you could've gotten a XFX 9800 GT for $5 more that had free S&H, yeah...

Palit's Speeds
Core Clock - 550MHz
Shader Clock - 1375MHz
Memory Clock - 1800MHz

XFX's Speeds
Core Clock - 600MHz
Shader Clock - 1500MHz
Memory Clock - 1800MHz

The cards already downclock themselves when not in use to conserve energy.

Or you could've gotten a Galaxy 9800 GT at the same speeds as the XFX card and it came with a $25 MIR.

Newegg's service, doesn't matter whether it's .com or .ca, is eggcellent....

Yeah horrible joke, they make the same one. I've never had a problem with Newegg's customer support or returning anything.

It's not Pre-builts from Newegg that you should worry about. It's what company they come from.

Just because something is on Newegg doesn't make it good. Do your research and ask questions.

CPU - Intel Core i7 920

MoBo - EVGA ****fied Overclockers Pick 3-Way SLI+PhysX

RAM - Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 3x2GB DDR3-1600 @ 7-8-7-20 x 2

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 285 1GB x 2

HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 32MB Cache x 4

PSU - Corsair 1000HX Modular

Case - Corsair Obsidian 800D Full Tower

Optical - LG 8X Blu-Ray Burner

Optical 2 - LG DVD Burner x 2

OS - Windows 7 Professional x64

Total W/O S&H - $3,136.84

Once the HD 5870s actually get back in stock, you'll be able to sell your 285s for around $275-$325 and pick two HD 5870s to replace with an extra $100 or so.

Right now isn't really the right time to be purchasing the HD 58XX cards since they are going up in price. If you had don this when the cards released you could've gotten the cards for $30 cheaper each IF you could fine them.

This build gives you 4TB of HDD space, perfect for RAID-0 arrays. You also get 3 optical drives and Blu-Ray capabilities.

12GB of fast, low latency RAM and 2 of the fastest video cards available will make your head scream in gaming.

Only Core 2 Duo CPUs with a FSB of 1066 or less will work with his motherboard. That means no E8X00 CPUs. His options are E1X00, E3X00, E5X00, E6X00 and E7X00 CPUs.

You can pick up a E7600 Which would last abit longer then a E7400. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115059 E7600 $145

If you wanted to save about $30 and only lose about 0.13GHz you can pick up a Core 2 Duo E7500.

0.13GHz is NOT a big difference FYI, you won't even be able to notice it.

Just remember, if the HDDs aren't the EXACT same you WILL experience slow performance of the RAID array.

This is because the controllers on the HDD are different and the platter configuration is different for both drives. Meaning that the newer HDD is going to be faster than the older 250, but when in RAID it'll be slowed down to the speed of the older one.

Well, how about you watch these two videos first.

They will open your eyes, hopefully, to what is really going on and why we feel this way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDF2CQNSTzI

It is a two part video so make sure to watch both parts. Until you have watched these two videos, do NOT post in this thread about any comments or anything.
