Just because it's supported doesn't mean it's needed.

Dragon Age is NOT a game that NEEDS SLI at all...

It plays just fine at max detail 2xaa on my 8600 GT paired with an athlon X2 5200+ with 2gb of RAM @ 1280x1024.

There is NO NEED for SLI for this game.

Heck these are the requirements for the video card for XP.

Video: ATI Radeon X850 128MB or greater;

NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater.

I recently bought a new laptop that has a screen with 1920x1080 native resolution. The good is that it makes games look beautiful. The bad is that it makes them run slow. I have a 2.8GHz Dual core processor and an ATI mobility 4670, but when I play Dragon Age Origins, the fps are low. If I change the resolution from 1920x1080 to hopefully increase performance, all the textures in game turn really blocky and ugly and there are black bars on either side of my screen. Is there a way to play my games at a lower resolution without the game textures looking like crap, or is this the price of having a nice screen?

Doodleknight

I'm sorry, but your trying to game on a laptop that ISN'T made for gaming.

Why do people keep saying vantage.Crypt_mx
Because Vantage is a HARDER benchmark to run. 06 doesn't accurately test any more with all the new technology.

I got a score of 18,066 with my rig on Windows 7(RTM) on Vantage.

If you want to get a new card. Sell the 4870 X2 and get a 5870.

Because Tri-Sli 285s CAN and DO beat out Quad-Sli 295s BECAUSE the GPUs in the 295s are NOT as powerful as the ones in the 285s.
