Woukdn't it better for Sony to stop? The PS3 has been a financial disaster for them and their last two consoles weren't all that well engineered.

Lol, even with motion+ people say that the controls in skyward sword(who find them great mind you) work 90% of the time. People would flip the **** out if devs said triggers only work 90% of the time in x shooter or square doesn't always work in x game. The moment I have to repeat a gesture you lost me. Keep that inconsistency in fisher price trash or wii games because sheep have lowered their expectations for what a game should play, look and consist of in 2011.MFDOOM1983
The controls work 100% of the time for me. There is a sizable learning curve and I still regularly **** up precise slashes, but that's me making the mistake. That's even part of the challenge of the game. Overall, combat gotten a lot better in Skyward Sword and even without having to learn complex combo's and such what other games tend to rely on. Also, pointer controls is far, far better then dual analog for aiming.

no, not at all. as a business, hardware is important for sony. the blu-ray drive in ps3 had a significant impact in the demise of the hd-dvd and saved sony a ton of money as well as put a lot of players of premium priced movies in people's homes. the greater demand for high definition hardware complemented sony's hdtv line. 3D games will do the same with 3dtv's. sony isnt just a video game, movie, tv, and computer computer (among other products). they are an interconnected electronics company. The PS3 was an enormous failure for sony actually. The blu-ray drive might have helped with the succes of blu-ray, but Sony will never make enough from that to make up for the enormous losses caused by the ps3 hardware. Still don't see them going third party though.

[QUOTE="kipknots"]This is what doom 3 really looks like without mods: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb0dHEki0I8 And here you got Killzone 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QNqH-liv40HaloinventedFPS

Doom 3 still looks better

The only thing you could give Doom 3 is a higher res / more AA. Killzone 3 is overall far, far better looking. The scope, the effects, the animation and the sheer amount of stuff that's happening, combined with large levels, etc. There's no denying in that.

Those shots are a **** The first set of outdoor shots looks pretty good, but the inside shots are awful. Absolutely terrible textures. The second group of shots doesn't even look like Morrowind, all atmosphere is lost.

[QUOTE="Garfield360UK"]Any tips for a newcomer? I have just got through what I would say is the tutorial area (i.e. after the thing guarding the prison area) and keep dieing when I try to take on some skeleton creatures, my attacks seem pretty ineffective. My character is a pyromancer (I think, the magic and wepons guy). This game is certainly interesting, hard but at the same time compelling. I like the subtle detail in the game and the way the game works. Just one disapointment for me is when my router plays up and kicks me offline, I get put back to the game menu and have to continue from a checkpoint again, very frustrating.

If something seems impossible, it most likely means you're going the wrong way. Look for another path.

[QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]HD graphics do not make a game better.Cherokee_Jack
lol yes they do. Better visuals = better realized game world = better game.

A bit simplistic view actually. While the game would've been better if it had the exact same content except with better visuals in reality developers have to work with budget and time constraints. There's no way that Monolith could've created a game as expansive as this with PS3 / 360 lvl assets.

Besides that, this game probably has the best game world that I've seen this gen. And it is incredibly beautiful as well. Imo the worlds itself tower over pretty much any 360 / PS3 game because of their scope, theattention to detail and the art direction.
