*looks at your sig* you gotta be kidding me. kipohippo021
So in other words.....according to your thread...it's wrong to force opinions on others...but it's okay for you to force your opinion on that which I like? Double standard much? What was that you were saying about tolerance?

What am i forcing? Im just wondering how you can say that you dont take music seriously, yet you put the cure in your sig in a non joking manner.

Where have I ever discussed the legal ramifications of actions :?
We are discussing the cause/fault. Laws are made by the people to serve the people.

That would be up to a particular group of people to decide how that should be adjudicated...how they want to be ruled.

rawsavon

The cause and fault of one's actions are reviewed and defined by law.

I am not and have not discussed any laws. They are not absolute and determine nothing (as they vary from people to people).
Laws are merely a tool used by people.

When you are discussing blame and fault. You need to take the legal descriptions of those words into factor. Its not their fault. Thats what the insanity plea is for. If you think mentally retarded people are to blame, that is your opinion. You use "same freedoms, same responsibility" as a exuse. But mentally retarded people dont have the same freedoms. Usually when the insanity plea is used, people spend thier lifetime in a mental institution.

But the legal concequences mean that the "blame" on the individual is up for discussion. You arent to blame if you cant help it. Yes, you technically did do it and thats what blame means. But in todays world, blame and fault carry a negative description with them. So is it thier fault? No. Did they cause it? Yes.

First you disagree with me...then you agree...then you say fault=/=cause...which is not correct :?

No i didnt. I never stopped disagreeing, i simply accepted your opinion. Fault is negative. Blame is negative. Cause is neutral. I dont blame people who cant controle themselves. I never said they never caused it.

[QUOTE="kipohippo021"]

Jesus was materialistic? Wrong. What is this thread about? You want people to be tolerant not generalize...right? LJS9502_basic
You didnt read my example. During the crusades, the christian church was very materalistic. They had holy relics that could supposedly heal you, you could pay money for the church to send messages to your dead. It was very materalistic. So, that sense of "something" stayed. Like the cross, you see the cross and think "christianity". Its full of symbols and the such. Jesus on the cross for example. So, a christian would not see drawning muhamad as bad. Only that it would piss people off. I dont see it as bad personally, but i wont do it cause its offensive. And i want tolerance. And for people to not impose their opinons. Make all the generalizations you want, but dont impose it on others and be respectfull of other people opinions.

So the Muslims invading and taking land wasn't materialistic?

Humans are territorial by nature. Would you want somone invading your house? If you then chased them out and you had a gun, wouldnt you want to shoot them and take the offensive side? Every culture is materialistic to a point, but christians are more so than muslims. You are just trying to cause argument now.

[QUOTE="kipohippo021"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] You cannot plan for every consequence of your actions or possible actions you may take. But that does not mean you are not the cause/do not have to take responsibility. We are free to live in way that we are able to cause things to happen...as result, we must take responsibility for that freedomrawsavon

So, if you kill your boss in your sleep. Without having any prior disorder diagnosed. Should you be tried for murder in the same way as a mentally sane person would be tried? The justice system says no.
