To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a MockingbirdIf you do not have this novel, purchase it straight away! You will definitely miss a beautifully crafted storyline coupled with stylish writing if you miss this book. When I saw this book at a bookstore, I was skeptical; I rarely read novels nowadays, and prefer magazines like Newsweek and Times to fiction writings. What caught me was "Over 30 000 000 sold". Instinctively, I coughed up some cash and brought it back to my hostel to read it. I was swept away by the storyline and language delivery; simply superb. Try putting yourself in the shoes of a 7 year-old girl. That, to me, is not a simple task. Magisterially however, the author managed to make it so simple that understanding her problems and thoughts was not difficult at all. As you venture the story from the point of view of this child, you discover that there are many interesting and illuminating issues pertaining to the 20th century at a small village. If you want to know more, then go ahead and take a good chew out of this book!

Pata-Pata-Pata-Pon!

After completing the game, I realized that Patapon is a game which is worth playing over and over again. I just love tracking back the boss levels, although they get tougher with each defeat. It takes quite an effort to beat the rhythm in your brain and letting it co-ordinate your fingers. This game is truly exhilirating; the challenge of maintaining the "Fever Mood" throughout really drives me into the excitement of the game. Not only that, careful strategy is imperative: You need to time your escape from your enemies, and decide carefully when to attack or defend. I spent most of my nights, for the past two weeks, indulging at least 3 hours on this game before catching my sleep.

So, without a doubt, this game is worth the bucks and time!:)

Recently, the acclaimed Hellgate London game was covered in a two-page review in the local newspaper here in Singapore. I was intrigued by the positive remarks about this game, so I gave it a try. When I played the game, there was only one description I could give it: Absolutely STUNNING and AWESOME. The gameplay is exciting, and the graphics are simply superb. So, if you have not given it a try, this is really worth the buy!

Tired...not!

I called it a day after spending 3 hours on my Thermodynamics textbook. It is 1.00 a.m. here in Singapore, and I am mentally fatigued. Well, it is time to switch my attention to... Final Fantasy II!!! I am sure by the time I slide the PSP power button on, I am going to forget that I was tired after all. That is the power of gaming: ESCAPISM.

Thinking along these lines boosts my spirits up, and I am really high at the moment. :D

Before further ado (pompousness intended), allow me to end here and indulge in the gaming world!!! Period.

My alarm clock went off...

It's time to study!

Returning to my hostel after a long day of lecture, I sat down and continued playing Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition on my PSP. With the help of a walkthrough by an unknown source, I managed to clear several stages. After an hour and a half or so, I was drained out mentally, and took an intended nap. Guess what, a nap turned into a THREE HOUR long sleep! When I woke up, it did not feel right; my room was bathed in darkness. I stole a glance at the clock: The short hand pointed at the figure "8". My alarm went off(my head, not the clock), and I jumped out of bed, frantic.

I was supposed to wake up at 6.00 p.m. latest.

Why was I frantic? I have a mid-term exam paper this saturday, and there is so much studying to do.

Just for the record, I have not much time for further write-ups. It's time to study!!!!
