Killing floor. As soon as I beat a game I uninstall it to save room on my hard drive (working with 120 gig here).

Yes, it has an effect on my real life.... I'm less bored. Do I think I can pause and restart life, No. Sometimes I have video game dreams, but that is the extent of the effects video games.

Is anyone willingly spending $60+tax to run Starcraft 2 on LOW everything? Just Curious.

7jack
Yeah, Because graphics don't make the game bad. I'm surprised that would be the deciding factor to anyone

Why so lazy? just put the disk in.

Eneru112
I personally have a netbook, so there is no disc drive.... If this is the case, check out cloneCD and Daemon tools, works for older games, but rarely new ones. Could you add the game to steam then run it just by starting steam?

Macbooks can duel boot but that is counterproductive as your going to pay 2-3x the price just so you can duel boot and have the mac OS. I would just say just duel boot a linux distro and windows on a PC laptop and save yourself 1000's of dollars. jedikevin2

idunno I assume since you are posting on a gaming forum, you want to play games...so get the Alienware

Also, I cannot justify the cost of a Mac...both Alienware and Macs are pricey, but at least with the Alienware you get what you pay for. Alienware also has insnanely good customer support and stuff like that iirc, and though they don't have stores everywhere like Mac does, I dont really see there being much issue.

Have you considered a higher-end Dell, also?

mrbojangles25

Where exactly is everybody getting their info on a Mac being $1000 more than other laptops?
I went to both sites and picked comparable components and the difference was about $120

Mac: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghz, 250 Gb hard drive, 4 Gb memory, Nvidia Geforce 320M: $1200
Alienware: IntelĀ® Core™2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz, 250 Gb hard drive, 4 Gb memory, Nvidia Geforce 335M: $1080
I added an optical drive to the Alienware one to make it even considering the mac has one.

Am I completely missing something? Because both machines are almost identical other than the graphics card (The Alienware one is better I believe). Although it is obvious that the Mac is overpriced, it isn't by $1000

Like I said, I wouldn't go with either, I would go with Asus.

I have to agree. Dual booting is less that preferable, it's redundant. Unfortunately for us Mac users, it's the only way to use software you need. The only reason why I began dual booting is because I had $500+ in software that was PC, and hence dual booting was necessary.

I hope that it isn't just Half Life 2, but the episodes as well (doubt it very much). Was already able to play HL2 on my mac through Parallels so this doesn't interest me much, but have yet to play episodes 1 and 2
