@aross2004: Arguably, understanding the disorder its fundamentally based on will actually make the movie worse. I mean I'm not ragging on the over-the-top unrealistic parts here as those are clearly meant to be just that, but the parts where Shyamalan is trying to look at it more seriously? Especially through the psychologist character? Ball got dropped completely there and its clear he didn't do his research beyond the first paragraph on Wikipedia.

DID is caused by experiencing the worst of the worst in terms of trauma and he is essentially trying to romanticize it here as a higher form of being and something that can make you stronger which borders a bit on insulting really. Shyamalan should stick to weird twists and leave the intelligent parts to those who are intelligent.

Its best to just go in blind, enjoy Mcavoy's amazing acting, laugh at the ridiculously hammy last third and call it a day haha.

@nyran125tk: Haha true true! I still haven't bought Battlefield 1 just because of this reason. I cannot justify dropping this much money in a multiplayer game, its just not worth it. How ironic though that Garden Warfare 2 is the most value I've gotten out of a once off AAA purchase these past two years, and from EA out of all companies. Its gotten about double its size with content updates and it didn't cost me an extra cent for it.

@Thanatos2k: And to top it all off, the second playthrough makes Spec Ops darkest moments look like rainbows and unicorns. Nier unabashedly goes down really, really dark roads and pulls you kicking and screaming with it.

But that's just a small part of what makes it so amazing haha, the story is genuinely thought provoking and its just a one of a kind thing to experience. Especially when you consider its a whole game based out of another game's secret ending.

Also, to anyone getting into it now. DO THE SIDE MISSIONS. Most people tell you not to but you will be missing out on some of the game's best story moments and the biggest meta-troll on both the player and genre ever if you do.

For those who can grab it, I highly, HIGHLY recommend doing so especially if you loved Automata. Although the game doesn't require any knowledge of the original Nier since it has a lot of world building on offer to explain what happened in the past, there's still whole quests and stuff you'll find which will make your gut wrench if you know about the (utterly depressing) history behind them.

@nyran125tk: Its a rather hectic trend with Microsoft's games really, Gears of War 4 and Halo Wars 2 come out around the same price as well for everything (my side of the world anyway). Their ultimate editions make Ubi's overpriced Gold editions look reasonable by comparison hahaha

@phili878: Agreed, as much as I openly think Eddie's a clickbait junk writer, he reported what the patch does according to its notes here and went the extra mile to compare it to the previous one and state that there will be more info once its figured out what it the patch specifically does. I think that amounts to a decent enough effort.

That title is way too ambiguous though, "changes made for a more pleasant experience" and possible framerate improvements because the last patch did so does just enough to justify the title but also just too little enough to consider this a slight dick move on his part. Article would've been fine if it outright stated "speculation on what it does" or something along those lines rather.

And I just spent the last ten minutes analyzing and writing about some random gaming article, gosh what a slow day at work.

@sisters10086: The game is a bit of a problem even on high powered PCs hahaha. Got a friend who has it on steam? Lend his account and try it out with the FAR fix to see how it performs, it boosted my FPS from 15-20 to over 50 nearing 60FPS. The game isn't that much of a looker really haha, you may be able to run it :)

@KiriharaZro: You wanna be close minded on a bit of a different game structure then its your loss bro. Nier's deeper narrative is meant for people with overall more capacity for thought anyway.
