Oh bullshit, they can't go saying the first game was intended to be so light on story when it was already public news that the plan always has to have it be much more story/campaign focused until Activision forced them to rip out nearly everything.
@dlCHIEF58: The average GTA player probably won't even know of the mod's existence and even if they heard, it would most probably be heard as "that one cool mod which brings liberty city into the game" instead of "that awesome expansion Rockstar just released" so there's really minimal chance of it causing that kind of harm.
Its really not rocket science, its against the modding policy so it had to be taken down. Does it suck? I personally think so, its been commonplace for GTA mods to have stuff from other IP's, how can this be shut down while all those Hulk and Iron Man mods are completely fine? Don't they fall under "importation of other IP's"?
I don't know what Rockstar's edge is with mods really, I can't for a fact say whats going on in people's minds there (and at T2's) although I always thought they were a pretty dickheaded company when it comes to the treatment of their fans. There's clearly some unnecessary lines not allowed to be crossed when it comes to community created content.
@Nitroc: Why? You can just ignore the mods if you don't like it and they strictly kept it single player only. Any mods of any sort you see in the online portion are most likely cheaters. Which I doubt this will stop.
@Atzenkiller: Localizing them costs money and Sega's certainly making enough from Warriors sales in the west to do so because we otherwise wouldn't have been getting them this easily, heck even some of the more obscure portable ones have been localized so certainly there is a big enough crowd out there buying these games.
And no I'm not gonna waste my time looking up proof or numbers here, or discussing whether "it is just cheap to produce or really successful". I gave you the answer to your question, do your own research if you're not satisfied with it.
I must say the game's rogue-lite structure and ability to be enjoyed in short bursts would make it a fantastic addition to the Switch library if they can ever port it over, its the perfect portable game in a sense haha, do a few levels during lunch here, kill some mobs while waiting in line there.
@kabloe: Now now, we can't just ignore the few stinkers Activision made them push out and Star Fox Zero. Their track record definitely isn't perfect haha.
But yeah! When they are in their element and push out something to the best of their capability, hot damn does it make for "best game ever" material usually.
