@Acheron18: Heres to hoping! I mean, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was surprisingly intelligent and subtle for whats essentially a Hollywood popcorn film so the chances are there of this not being too watered or dumbed down for the masses.

I think there's no denying this is gunning for mass appeal though, but one can also do that without having it be insulting to fans of the original work.

In a nutshell? I sure hope the film is as sleek and damn good looking as this trailer.

Still no Del Toro though? I'm boycotting the film if that's the case really, Pacific is his baby and its mighty dick of them to kick him off the sequel.

@lion2447: Thats the thing! I just cant see how an episodic format can work with an epic JRPG.

Like just imagine with FF7 now, you go through a pivotal point in the game and instead of being greeted with an "insert next disc" screen which you quickly did back then to continue the amazing experience, you get "to be continued" instead and have to wait probably 6 months for the next part.

Its utter shit I think.

This is a bit intense yeugh, even Ubisoft is looking at this compared to their different Watch Dogs 2 editions excel spreadsheet and thinking "damn son"

Square is really like that one kid you always knew in school who would always attach to what he thinks is the current cool fad (and it really wasn't) and take it way too far.

People like online games? LETS MAKE EVERYTHING ONLINE, including that fantastic series people love exclusively for its single-player experience Legacy of Kain, lets just cancel the proper sequel that was in the making for it while at it too.

Oh people like DLC? LETS MAKE EVERYTHING DLC, or actually, LETS BREAK GAMES INTO DLC EPISODES especially that classic Final Fantasy 7 game people enjoyed most as a cohesive experience with a beginning and end out of the box.

C'mon Square, don't be that guy. You're being that guy.

Heh, on a rather amusing side-note, I had one match where a new player was very confused about the map hack ability and thought his game showing "map hack detected" meant that someone was literally using a map hack cheat and was super bleak on the chat for a good minute before someone cleared it up for him hahaha

Amazing game otherwise though, absolutely hooked.

I think Mel worded himself wrong here and got the complete wrong idea through for everyone.

From what I gather of his explanation, he's basically trying to say Marvel's hero movies contain too much senseless violence, as in there's too much brainless action scenes for the sake of having action scenes, compared to his films where "you give a shit about the characters" thus giving his hand-picked violent scenes in the film more impact.

Do I agree with him? Hell no, even though I guess you can technically say Marvel films are 'violent', the portrayal of such has always been done in a more PG13 way to lower the impact of it so to speak. And lots of action scenes is just a large part of Marvel movies because hey, you don't go watch them for their philosophical nature or to get an existential crisis or have your brain wracked by deep themes, its popcorn entertainment.

And Mel's just being a dick anyway, he essentially thinking that taking a dump on a popular thing will somehow make his thing more popular.

So any news about the freighter ownership and base building features the game is supposed to get? Or were those just lies as well?

Funny them taking a jab at a practice they already partook in previously but regardless..

This is ultimately why I grabbed Titanfall 2 over BF1. Like Battlefield 1 looks amazing, really, but I know I'm gonna have to drop over a hundred dollars into that game to essentially not fall behind once the DLC hits and, well, that's really a lot of money I don't want to spend on a multiplayer game. So rather grabbing this for now (got it for $49 which I'm happy about) and will grab BF on a special or so down the line.

Its nice for once being able to buy the standard edition of a game and knowing I'll be getting most of the content without any extra cost, Jesus why did this become such a rarity?
