As promised, my review of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones AND Final Fantasy IV Advance... Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones - --The Story-- You play as the prince of Persia, who has just returned from his journeys and now heads home to Babyllon (hope I spelled it right). But, upon returning there with your girlfriend, you see the city in ruins and its people under attack by ruthless monsters, who destroy your boat and take Ileena hostage as a sacrifice. It's up to you to figure out what's going on and rescue her, or else watch your city be killed off. --Notes-- -For all three consoles -A quarter of the way through the game, you come across the customary dagger of time, which gives you many abilities such as rewinding time and blasting your enemies with the Sands of Time powers you obtain. -I haven't played the other games. -Chariot races through the city are amazing. -Best game of the series, also the last. -Only four bosses. -Oh my God, this game is hard!!! -Action/Puzzle gameplay (reason why it's hard) -Upon getting the dagger of time, you become corrupted by its powers and, at certain points in the game, will transform into the dark prince (don't confuse the alter ego with the new voice in your head). -Speed kill feature in which you press a certain button (different for each console) to initiate it once behind your opponent (differs), then another button each time the dagger glows (different for each console). --The Verdict-- I'm asking myself why I didn't get this sooner...it's awesome and hard, but awesome (and hard some more). Though it has few bosses, you'll find them quite a challenge. Buy this please. Final Fantasy IV (4) Advance- --The Story-- Yet another remake for the GBA. Play as the Dark Knight Cecil and uncover the truth about the kingdom of Baron. The king has suddenly requested the knights retreive Crystals from the kingdoms around the globe. But for what purpose? Journey around, fight your enemies, and shed your dark self. --Notes-- -This game keeps me up until midnight. -For the Gameboy Advance (hence the name). -RPG/Strategy game (you'll see why). -Unlike normal turns, this uses a special system of combat that can be extremely confusing and sometimes annoying, causing you to think quickly. -A quarter of the way through the game, Cecil loses his title of Dark Knight and becomes a Paladin. -The game lags a lot in between moves, but is still fun to play. -Has a few new things in this remake than in the original, such as the Cave of Trials (or something like that). --The Verdict-- My every-three-month dose of RPG is satisfied. If you hate games that lag a little, don't get this. I found it bareable, but consider that with all of the stuff in the game, it's a wonder that the game doesn't stop completely. If you have a DS or GBA, get this. It'll make the FF fans proud. That's all for tonight. New reviews possibly coming tomorrow.
